Real Direct Life Experience Recognizes Real Sandalwood Essential Oil
a real sandalwood essential oil that smells fantastic! much unlike another vendor who tried to scam by sending fake sandalwood oil which had an awful smell & was clearly, definitely not any kind of an essential oil at all and which I sent back faster than lightning. but my experience of the Gya Labs sandalwood essential oil is a good one as not only does it have a lovely real sandalwood scent but it passed the **real essential oil** tests. something I learned how to do + also praciced decades ago while attending a plant based wholistic health school program. I also practiced this during an herbal medicine apprenticeship & when I later worked for the owner of both a wholesale & retail wholistic herbal medicine health business. because my experience of Gya Labs was a good one I woudn't hesitate to buy sandalwood essential oil from Gya Labs again: 5/5 stars.

Real Sandalwood Santalum Album Oil!
I've been buying real Indian sandalwood oil since the 80s & have also bought fakes. Finding real sandalwood is important with so many fakes out there so, I'm giving this a hard evaluation...and it has passed with flying colors in all areas. You can't fake real sandalwood so IDK why anyone bothers. GYA Labs made all the right claims about manufacture but I still expected I'd be returning fakes immediately. Nope! Great price, great scent - rich & complex no trace of alcohol or carrier oil. I didn't use it for pain per se, but my normal level of carried stress makes me walk around with tightly knitted eyebrows, and they relaxed on their own as soon I opened the box & the scent hit the air. Had not even opened the bottle yet. That counts as pain relief to me which is why I gave a 5 there. That was remarkable, but real sandalwood is amazing stuff. I am picking up very faint scents of possibly rose, but it's not out of the question that sandalwood could produce a fruity flowery scent in the range I'm detecting - it's VERY faint. The real sandalwood smell is consistent, not fading at all. No other scents detected after 30 minutes, just sandalwood. Good stuff here! Reviewed Feb 22 '23, will change immediately if I don't repeat these positive findings on the other 2 bottles I got. PS Reviews of sandalwood oil should be for sandalwood oil not some other product in the line, that's why I expected fakes here...GYA make note & address! Only the oil listed should have a review in its listing, NOTHING ELSE!

Simply not sandalwood
I've been buying sandalwood for about 25 years and it has become difficult to find (due to protection of sandalwood trees in India). Many sellers say they're selling sandalwood but indeed they're not. While the Gya Labs price is an obvious indicator that they're not actually selling sandalwood or pure sandalwood, I'm on a hunt to find a seller who can at least mimic the smell using other ingredients. Sadly, this scent doesn't even come close to sandalwood. On the top, sniffing just from the bottle before mixing it with skin, it has a true lavender scent. On the skin, it quickly turns into a sharp, acidic, spicy smell that is more like bergamot and Palo Santo. It actually smells like a simple yet decent man's cologne, but not at all like warm, creamy, sweet, woody, smooth sandalwood. Because I'm a woman looking for a more feminine smell, I wouldn't use this on my skin. I'll try a few drops in a diffuser to see how it translates that way, otherwise I will return it.

Strong scent, lasted for five days. (Sandalwood)
Not going to comment on whether or not this "smells like" Indian sandalwood, since I've never actually been to Mysore to smell the actual Santalum album trees myself. Also, we don't all perceive scents the same way. Whether or not this particular scent feels pleasant will vary. Gya Labs version IS pleasant to me, and is similar to Bath & Body Works' "Sweet Sandalwood," but more woody. I have two categories by which I judge essential oils: longevity and potency of their scents. This is my assessment of Gya Labs sandalwood (Santalum album) essential oil. Longevity: amazing. This is the test I do with all my new essential oils. I put a drop on a small piece of paper towel and let it sit on a shelf, and check if the scent is detectable over time. Gya Labs sandalwood lasted full FIVE days, and was still faintly detectable by day 7. Only one (now extinct) bottle from a different brand came close, at four days. Most others I tested faded within a few hours to one day. Potency: amazing. This is the primary use I have for essential oils: I put a few drops into a ceramic warmer's little water dish warmed by a tealight candle. Tealight lasts between 3 & 1/2 hours to 4 & 1/2 hours. I test how many drops it takes to fill up a whole room (about 10 ft x 12 ft) with scent. Gya Labs sandalwood managed it with 6 drops, and lasted through two candles (~9 hours), until I had to sleep. The scent was still detectable next morning. Some of the other ones I tested couldn't fill the whole room with more than 20 drops. I've also noticed similar longevity/potency from Gya Labs tuberose. I am VERY happy with both of my purchases, and will definitely be trying more of Gya Labs essential oils.

Best Sandalwood I've found...
I rarely leave reviews, unless a product either blows my mind or is so terrible as to offend, and I came here because of the former and happened to see the answers to this question. This is literally the best Sandalwood for the price that I've found, not to mention every other oil I've purchased from them has been top notch. Gya Labs is now my go to for essential oils. I'm wearing a blend right now comprised of their oils and it smells AMAZING. I've had so many compliments on it. Marjoram!? Either that person got a mislabeled bottle or they need their sniffer checked. Am I silly enough to think this .34ml bottle is 100% pure undiluted maximum grade S. Album... No. S. Album is expensive due to it's status where it comes from, how long it takes to grow/harvest, etc... Even top grade Australian Sandalwood is hella pricy. Is it diluted with carrier oil? Most likely. Is it blended with other Sandalwoods? Possibly. Is it the best smelling Sandalwood I've found for the price? Absolutely. Could I be wrong on any of this? Likely, I'm not a botanist or expert on essential oils. I just know it smells amazing, blends well, and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

This is not 100% pure Indian Sandalwood essential oil, it smells very synthetic. Very disappointed.

Unrivaled Quality
I’ve tried a lot of of sandalwood oils and this is truly one of the best (comparable to Mt Sapola quality). It is expensive but really smells rich and sweet, not thinned out and sour like some blends. I believe some reviewers are struggling to smell this oil as sandalwood is generally considered a “base note” in perfumery. It tends to blend into the background and you don’t notice it after a while. I know this is potent as I diffuse it in my kids’ bedroom while they sleep. When I enter the room to check on them, I can smell the sandalwood very strongly. Their bedsheets also smell of the diffused oil in the morning, which they love. They say it helps them to sleep deeply.
