Got this door today for my duck coop I made out of a 4ft water trough. It was super easy to install into the trough and connect to the solar panel. It even comes with a template for installation. The controls on the solar panel are super simple. Once you charge it the sun will keep it charged. Also has a pinch function which is great and helps make sure the ducks don't get stuck in the door. It will be nice to have my ducks secure at night to make sure they are safe from the critters.

I was super hopeful about this product, unfortunately… didn’t work like advertised! The door never stayed open when it was suppose causing my hens to either be locked out or in the coop. You have wait until the time you want to have the door open and close.. (which who wants to be up at 6am or 9pm to set the door). It’s just frustrating and sad it didn’t workout. I still want to know why if kept shutting throughout the day even though I has it set to close at 9pm!!!

this auto door coupe door is absolutely wonderful. It’s smooth. The timer is great and the opening is wide. It has a wide mounting, which is great for my one coop door unfortunately it would not fit on the inside coupe door so I could not use it in both places. But I am loving the store so far.

After losing my last flock to a bald eagle (yep, a bald eagle—apparently they don’t care about backyard chicken moms), I decided it was time to upgrade the coop. This solar-powered automatic door seemed like a good place to start. Out of the box, the setup looked solid and professional. Installation wasn’t hard, but it definitely wasn’t “ten minutes and done” either. Every coop is different, and mine needed a little DIY magic to make the frame fit. Once I trimmed and refitted things, it mounted just fine. The solar panel, however, came with a frustratingly short cord, so finding a good sun spot was tricky. Once everything was connected, the door opened and closed like a charm. I especially like that you can program it to open and close at specific times or use the light sensor mode so it follows sunrise and sunset automatically. The timer setup is simple once you know how it works. The remote, on the other hand, could use some improvement. It only says “ON/OFF,” which isn’t very intuitive, and pressing “off” does absolutely nothing. Overall, the door feels sturdy enough, works reliably, and keeps my girls safe at night. I wish the cord was longer and the remote made more sense (I'm pretty sure mine is broken), but if this thing keeps the eagles out and my hens happy, that’s what really matters.

The chicken door will not program. It was set to open and close with daylight. It opened and closed at random locking the chickens out of the hut. So, I attempted to have it close and open at a specified time (You have to press a button at the time you want it to close or open). The specified time setting also did not work. Opening and closing at random. Not worth the money.

I love the idea of this roll up dor its the only type that works on my prefab coop but this door would only close half way with no obstruction I tested it indoors before installing it. I also couldn't set the time i wanted it to open and close so it wont be used.

Still getting everything rigged up in my coop but this is a solid built item. I think it will work great to automatically open for my chickens. I do have a solid door inside just in case. I like the anti pinch feature to not kill chickens that try to roost in doorway.

Great chicken door. Having it open in daylight and close at nightfall is a great asset as a chicken owner. For those chickens that linger in the door, there’s an anti pinch system so they won’t get stuck in the doorway which is especially handy if you’re not right there. It’s made of quality material and easy to install for anyone who has some experience with basic tools. The fact that it’s solar powered is a real asset so you don’t have to worry about power outages or cords around your pecking chickens. It looks great and is nice and quiet. For the piece of mind and great function I think it’s a good value for your chicken dollars.
