Beautiful Connections However -Read before buying!
Connectors are beautiful & easy to assemble -however the outside housings are ‘NOT’ shielded and will conduct electricity if used close to each other like how I used them. Warning: These pretty connectors will cause short circuits if used close to each other. To eliminate this I had to heat shrink the outside housings so they don’t short out. I attached a picture for reference. Other then the extra work involved, I like them because of their 90deg construction. I would have given 5 stars but seller doesn’t warn buyers that the shell connectors are not shielded which could lead to short circuits.I purchased and used 14awg speaker wire from Amazon and assembly was very easy & simple.Speaker wire purchased: InstallGear 14 Gauge AWG 100ft Speaker Wire True Spec and Soft Touch Cable.Note: Don’t forget to heat shrink ends so you don’t short out your receiver or amplifier!

Does NOT “work” with 10 AWG wire
I wound up with a pair of these thrown in with a preamp/amp purchase recently, reused them with smaller gauge wire, 12 AWG and they worked just fine.I’d bought some MUCH heavier duty 10 AWG (pumping over 600 watts into a PA system) and, having read the specs, comments, thought these would work just fine.Well, I was wrong.10 gauge wire definitely “fits,” but you can’t get the set screws tightened down enough to thread the tube/shell part on. Really really.I KNOW I have 10 AWG wire because I’m using a wire stripper I’ve been using for years for other setups, home audio, ham radio and solar projects. The 10 AWG stripper strips cleanly, without shaving off any of the wires outside. How this is supposed to fit 8 AWG is beyond reason.I don’t recommend them for anything under 12 AWG wire.

Fragile and not insulated
Fragile and snap easily. Purchased 44 plugs these due to low clearance at the back of the receiver and for wire dress on speakers.. You must use great care in sliding the component into place or the banana will snap off.Barrel of connector is not insulated. You need to apply shrink tubing or electrical tape to avoid contact with adjacent connectors in a standard receiver binding post environment on components or speakers.

Good product but one defective
These banana plugs are very nice. They were easy to use and worked well. There were couple of minor issues. I bought 8 and one was defective. Amazon did a return for a replacement. Also a couple of people complained that the cover will not fit over the retaining screws once you insert the wire. I had a bit a trouble with this but I resolved it by tightening the retaining screws down further. Also the screws are soft copper which can fray with too much force causing burs on the tops of the screws and making the cover difficult to slide closed. In the end I would recommend these connector as they are overall pretty good.

wrong description
Does not except a large wire size. Dangerous, be ware, the terminals are not insulated (if they rotate they will short out on each other). You could put heat shrink tubing on them put why should you have to. they also stick out to far making them flimsy.

Useful, Decently Made
I’m happy with this style of banana plug where a pair of set screws hold the wire in place, and a cover slides over and screws into place. I wanted these 90° Plugs as the wall plate was being pressed by a small couch and I wanted a more compact setup. The plugs fit into the keystone mounted ports well with no obvious play. It actually took a small of force to pop them in place.Might have paid more for a more premium looking cover.

Works
Works well for the intended application. Using a Hafler circuit for 'surround' and 14 gauge front 16 gauge rear and had to wrap those two onto the 'red' post. It worked but was a tight fit.Stripped 1/2 in of insulation off 14 gauge, 3/4 in 16 gauge - twisted the two together then inserted them into the connector - getting the binding screws completely in took a little effort but was doable - the sleeve fit and screwed down. I applied electrical tape to the bottom 3/4 in of the sleeve. As an aside, remember to place the sleeve on the wire before fitting the connector. Don't ask how I know . . . ; -)

Gauge of cable matters
These work as anticipated. They look cleaner as the cables flow downward from wall vs outward. I would purchase again. Be aware that thick gauge audio cables may not fit. 14 gauge or smaller should be okay.
