Great Book
The book is laid out into bite size chapters. Each chapter has a lesson or theory delivered in 2-3 pages. The book was easy to read, relatable and emotionally eye opening. I’m already planning on re-reading it. The lessons are great and can be life changing. I highly recommend this book.

Game Changer! Saved my life!!
January of this year I tried to take my life. Hows that for an opening sentence? But really I did, I still don't know exactly why I got to that point, but I do know what got me to that point. Victim thinking or the victim mentality. I was a victim, it's ll I ever knew! I grew up in a household full of victims, My mom was 200 pounds overweight, relied on everyone as she never learned how to drive and then blamed all those same people for her existence and misery. My dad was the silent victim, not verbally expressing himself but living in silent defeat. Victim hood was my birthright and I milked all of it. At first victim hood is great, everyone pities you, but then it starts to get old and people start not responding like they did. you become pathetic really. and that's where I was. My life and what was happening to me was everyone else's fault, My parents for not raising me different, my wife's for getting sick, my in laws for not understanding me, etc, etc, pitiful etc...And that's where this book came in, and to be frank it was a book I bought years ago and never read, as they say when the student is ready the teacher will come. and my first teacher would be Steve Chandler! This book changed everything almost instantly. I came to the conclusion while reading this book that my life was my problem,my fault and no one else's. Now that may sound frightening to you, but its not in fact, by reading this book you realize that Ownership is powerful and liberating, by taking full responsibility. You become liberated. To some it sounds very paradoxical, I get it. I didn't like the thought of only blaming myself at first, but by doing so, freedom arises. I don't want to give away much of the teeth in this wonderful gem of a book, but, if you truly want a new life, or need a new beginning or, frankly, improvement of any kind, you must ditch the victim mentality. YOU MUST! if you dont or cant nothing will change. It may get better for a while in the short term but you will always be chasing that life you know deep down is yours. Stop playing small, get this book, read it, reread it, and make the rest of your life, the best of your life.

Inspiring content
Bite sized chapters packed with big life lessons on reinvention. This is a book that anyone can read and apply to their lives from a personal development perspective and is also great for coaches to bring into their practice.

Very helpful
I never thought of myself as a victim or martyr, but after reading this book realized I was living a very self-defeatist life. There is lots of good advice in there. Some parts may speak to you while others may not, but regardless, it's a quick read and could possibly change your outlook on life as it did with me. I think every parent should read the "honey i shrunk our daughter" chapter to see how you can have good intentions but entirely demotivate and label your child without meaning to.Edit -- I was about 2/3 done with the book when I posted this review with 5 stars. I now agree with other reviews that the end becomes unstructured and tedious, like he had to throw something in to meet a deadline. But I did learn a lot in the first half of the book, so I'm only dropping it down to 4 stars.

Great book - Chandler wisdom at it's best
What a timeless classic!I love the real and rawness of Chandler. He tells us how it is without the sugarcoating because we all know it is bad for us.What he does deliver is a raw dose of common sense!!PS I love the short sharp chapters too! Easy to digest and implement in my life.

Life changing
If I could gift this to every single person I know, I’d probably go bankrupt, but it is something everyone should read to change their mindset and become owners of the spirit. I love that Steve is so optimistic and focuses on what you SHOULD be doing rather than harp on and on about how things are done wrong (so many other books do that). I have truly changed my entire life thanks to this book. 10/10 would highly highly recommend it!!

Revising my earlier review
Below you’ll see my earlier review. It really has some amazing points. I still think the author gets a little “fluffy” in his writing at times, but in the end, that does not detract from the insights provided. 3 to 5 stars. After seeing this book mentioned favorably in another book I am reading, then seeing the positive reviews, I purchased it. While it has some interesting points and observations, thus far I am struggling to see how it is so “life changing”. The book could be half the size if all the fluffy stories were removed or even reduced in size. Here - I will summarize the book: Be an owner of your life, not a victim. That is pretty much it.

Clarity in the midst of chaos
This is another wonderfully helpful book from Steve Chandler. While at a major turning point in my life (empty nest, marriage in question, and unsure of what I wanted for my future) this book helped me to figure out what I needed to think about first before making any further decisions. The author is a student of the amazing Byron Katie, as am I, and I see her wisdom sprinkled throughout. It was wonderful to see someone who has struggled so much within their life and yet come out the other side healthier and wiser and giving back that wisdom to others.A piece of wisdom I've learned in regards to deciding whether a book is a worthy investment is that even if you get just ONE good workable strategy from a book you buy... it is worth it. Learning from others rather than trying to reinvent the wheel is not only wise but a more efficient use of the limited time of your life. This book was well worth the cost to me. Thank you Mr. Chandler!
