**Q: Only protects like 5% of furniture?  What's the point of a cat has 10% chance of hitting an area outside of one specific spot they like?**
A: Hi Ryan,
Great question!  Cat's scratch because it's instinctual.  Scratching helps them stretch their legs, sharpen their nails and also to mark their territory through sweat glands on their paws. They tend to return to the same spots over and over again!  Through testing, we found CLAWGUARD Marine Grade protectors provided durable protection to cover the targeted area.  Once the targeted area is covered, your cat will look for a new place to scratch. Having a scratch post near the covered area can help them transition from the couch to the scratch post.  Over time, begin to move the scratch post away from the couch.  Now both you and your cat are happy.

**Q: Can I use this product on rugs nd carpets?**
A: No. Too small.

**Q: What guage thickness is this?**
A: As best as I can measure, it's 1/16th of an inch. A little thicker than the cover of a composition notebook. I always associated plastic furniture covers with tacky 70s ranch houses, but for some reason this doesn't look that way; perhaps because it only covers the arms. Regardless, it has saved my mid-century couch.

I love this product. I looked everywhere for something that would look decent on my nice couch and would protect it. Forget the tape, my cat LOVED it -- she just scratched it more. Then I tried the spray but it kept breaking. This works very well, looks good, and is reasonably priced.

    Ok so it is a thick piece of plastic material. It came bent in half inside the package and won’t unbend ? Umm it had 1 whole in each corner where you are supposed to put the little thing to attatch it to your furniture but it’s not sticking anywhere else so my cats will Deff try to pull this off. I really don’t recommend this to stop your cats from scratching furniture . Maybe having one side that is sticky with the attachments would be better ...
