Really works!
These things really work. Don't be "that guy" whose sprinklers are on when it's raining...

great system
I received this item in a timely manner, and have installed it, and it works. So now it probably won't rain now. We got this so when we are away from the house, and it does rain, we don't have to worry about wasting water. It was easy to install, and hookup to the controller, so we are very happy about the unit. Thank you.

Easy Install, Works Well
This was very straightforward to install. Connect the two wires to the device on one end and the controller on the other, activate the sensor. It reliably measures rain, and my system delays watering on those days.

Normally Closed
I bought two of these sensors. One was for an experimental project and the other was for a DIG series 500 controller who's instruction manual suggested pairing it with either a Hunter Mini Click 2 or this product, a Rainbird RSD BEx rain sensor. It suggested above and beyond all the sensor be a normally open style switching/wiring configuration. Well not only did the DIG manual get it completely wrong about the normally open switching but so did the sellers listing. I ended up returning the one for the DIG controller, the seller accepted the return uncontested, postage paid. Still waiting for that return to finalise and the money to repost but Amazon has always done me right so I'm not trippin', just giving detail. I then ordered a Hunter Mini Click 2 and it worked just fine for a controller requiring normally open switching. If you find yourself in this same position remember it is the Mini Click 2 and it has 3 wires coming from it not just 2. You'll only be using 2 of them and you'll also know you have the correct one because it is about twice the price. Now, the one I kept is a normally closed and suitable for the experimental use I intended it for (either would have worked) and the unit seems well made and robust. It was easy to install and very simple to understand and operate. It came with some simple instructions and a quick internet search yielded a detailed manual regarding its feature set. Makes me wonder a bit why the seller would have it wrongly noted as a normally open when the literature available tells very clearly otherwise. My advice is edit your listing and include the exact model number and updated, correct technical specifications. You'll avoid confusion and end up selling more as a result. Hopefully someone finds this helpful. :)

Neat product, room for positive improvement.
Works as advertised. Only thing I wish it would do is if you are on a automatic setting for the sprinkler to come on, and instead of it just postponing until the sensor dryers out to kick back on, it would cause the sprinkler to skip that watering day cycle and just go to the next scheduled cycle. That would be a lot more efficient in saving water.

Much needed automation
Purchased this for my parents to add to their Rain Bird sprinkler system. Because their unit is placed clear across the backyard, it meant they had to go out into the rain to turn off the auto-sprinkler system. It was super easy to install and has already eliminated cross-yard walks in the rain!

Probably would work great, but not as easy to install.
Returned this item and ordered a wireless equivalent. Much easier to install. This unit would have probably worked fine had I put in the extensive effort to install it.

Replaced my 27 year old sensor with this one. Installation was easy to do and it is working as intended. I do recommend buying it.
