This was exactly the part I needed to extend the current door threshold to fill the gap between the newly installed Andersen Storm door and the current threshold. This was for a new house and the builder did not make the door sill (concrete part of foundation) wide enough to extend beyond the casing, so when a storm door is added, there was a 1 inch gap that would allow critters to crawl into the house. This product works perfectly to fit under the current threshold and extend under the new storm door. I used a 2 x 4 to support it under the door where the concrete slab should have been.

Impossible to find locally but it was available on Amazon. Just what I needed for the doorway of my storage shed.

I was really impressed with the quality of this sill nosing. We used it to cover a 2 x 6, which serves as the bottom of a greenhouse doorway. It is very solid and has deep ribbing which should protect the wood beneath and prevent slips and falls for the life of the building. It was too long for our door opening but cut readily with an angle grinder. You could use a hacksaw or some other method, as well. There are no pre-drilled holes, which allows you to add screws where you like, or use some other means to secure it in place. All in all, an excellent product.

I purchased two of these sill plates and they are exactly what I was looking for.I fully expected to trim either the sill plate, door frame and or sill. In my case, I had to trim the length of the aluminum sill plate and chose to undercut the side door stops in order to slide in the new sill plates. I didn't use any fasteners but chose instead to adhere them with Dap Dynaflex so there are no holes that can allow water to seep underneath.

After an extensive search in local hardware stores, I found this item online at Amazon - received it about 4 hours ago and just could not wait to install it. See the before and after images. Make sure you countersink the holes if you are drilling.

I hada really hard time finding silver toned sill plates. Everything seems to be brass toned. This was perfect for protecting the front of my threshold from my farm boys trampling in and out with their work boots. Thanks!
