ASICS Mens Gel-DS Racer 9

Several observations. First the negatives.1. Shoe runs a bit small and narrow. Not enough to return. Just not as comfortable and roomy as the cumulus.2. Also, if you ever run on a gravel surface expect to stop occasionally to remove stones from the sole. And if the stone gets caught in one of the water drain holes prepare for a bit of pain as the insole will not protect you.The positives;1. Extremely light. I actually shaved 3 minutes off my best 8 mile run the first time I used them.2. Comfortable. They cradled my foot very nicely.3. Very breathable. Keeps the temperature down.4. Looks great.Overall, highly recommended. I originally bought them for races only but quickly decided they would be my every run shoe.

Let's just say this up front: this is not a casual running shoe. It's a racing shoe (though not technically a racing flat), and it's a good one at that. It's basically a lighter weight version of the DS Trainer (my regular running shoe), and as such it makes a great choice for running any race in, from a 5K up to a half marathon. I've had good luck with it at all of those distances, though I've opted to stick with the slightly more cushioned DS Trainer for a full marathon (I suspect very fast and lightweight runners could get away with it, but I'm about 180 lbs and run a 3:30-ish marathon).Minus one review star for the unnecessarily flashy color scheme. Come on, ASICS; how about slightly subtler colors for the Racer 10?

I've been a fan of the GEL-DS series. I loved my GEL-DS Trainer 15s but can't find them in my size anymore (should've bought a few pairs last year). Opted to go with the Racer 9s and am really glad I did. The toebox is narrower than the GEL-DS fit I'm used to and I was a little nervous the first time I strapped them on. But, it turns out it's a non-factor; they fit great and they are so light - it's almost like wearing a traditional racing flat. In my mind - these shoes are the best combo of fit/weight/minimalist support that I've experienced. If I could get them in a color that didn't look like I just walked out of a Japanese anime cartoon that involved angry neon clowns fighting each other, I would buy 3 more pairs right now.

I'm actually a girl who bought these for myself and I don't even care that they're men's sneakers. I get lots of compliments on them. SO lightweight, I feel like I'm wearing nothing on my feet. I had no idea they had an aerated, "waffle" design on the soles of the shoe so if running conditions are wet/damp/muddy, I wouldn't advise wearing them because your feet will get wet in a split second. With that being mentioned, if you know for sure the conditions are dry, these are the sneakers you want!

got these shoes on friday and brought it for my first half marathon on sunday. best decision of my life. shoes were light and comfy and had just that little bit of support i wanted. no issues with it being stiff or unseasoned first time wearing it. appearance wise its a killer look. has a rather tight midfoot which hugs the foot nicely and a slightly roomier forefoot. only issue with the shoe was that it felt super steaming hot at the end of the race. but well maybe it was a wrong choice of socks.would recommend this shoe to everybody!

ordered a pair of these directly from here, they cost me a total of $60 with free shipping through Amazon Prime, they were delivered to me with the correct address within two days, as soon as I received them I went to the gym to test them out, they are lightweight (very minimal use of materials on the shoes), comfortable, good-looking, responsive, sturdy, flexible and dependable, though I heard from another review that you should order a half of a size large, which I have found to be true so far, as the extra room gives my feet enough room to breathe yet still stay in place, I definitely recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a cheaply priced pair of high quality light-weight athletic shoes

I love my new Asics,I've buying this brand of shoes for quite a few years now,always like their designs andtheir comfortability,these ones are very light,an awesome combination of colours,and they are different from the average pair of shoes,the way I like it.A special mention to Amazon,no complains whatsoever,I ordered half a size too small,after I mentioned and returned the sneakers to them for an exchange pair,it was organized and delivered very shortly after,I've been buying stuff from Amazon way back and they always provide a service 2nd to none.

only thing is the bottoms are not water proof by design. Found out wearing them in the rain. Your socks will get soaked. I may have missed that in the product overview or maybe that's normal for running shoes. I do like them a lot but again not in snow or rain.

Good shoe fits well. Tread pattern has big grooves where a small stone occasionally lodges when running you then feel the stone and end up stopping to remove it
