The table is very sturdy, even with kids using it daily, and the lift-top function works smoothly. Assembly was a bit more involved than we expected — definitely a two-person job and took us about 2.5 hours — but it was well worth it in the end. Each piece of this table looks like it's super wet, except its dry! I've tried to wipe it off with a dry, soft towel, and it just starts peeling??? It looks terrible and i am VERY dissapointed with how this looks. The fireplace TV stand i ordered looks NOTHING like this and it is the exact same "Light Brown" matching piece. Edit: we were able to scrub it all off, put it together and I'm pleased with the outcome so I'm not returning, however that wasn't something I was looking forward to. Mine doesn't scratch easily and it's very sturdy. Bothered but satisfied with the end result, it does look nice and was easy to assemble, the table top opens up and holds position to ensure no one's getting smashed fingers. It's the perfect size for our living room set up and I will be purchasing more pieces.
