it's not borosilicate glass but made of tempered soda-lime glass and the product code does lead one to World Kitchen. visually can be verified with the blue tint when compared to my "ancient" pyrex measuring cup at home. the sticker does warn not to heat it up and place on a cold surface in case of shattering or vice versa.caveat emptor

Ich habe nach einem neuen Messbecher gesucht, weil der alte leider nein Umzug kaputt ging. Wichtig war für mich, dass der neue stabiler ist. Anhand des Produktfotos sieht man bereits, dass das Glas sehr dick ist und somit auch eine lange Nutzungsdauer gewährleistet ist. Der Messbecher ist nun seit bereits mehr als 3 Jahren im Einsatz und sieht noch aus wie bei der Auslieferung. Aufgrund des dicken und stabileren Materials lassen sich auch wirklich kochend heiße Sachen einfüllen, ohne das man befürchten muss der Becher könnte zerspringen. Beim Befüllen von heißen Flüssigkeiten wird der Henkel nicht heiß.Zur Reinigung stelle ich den Messbecher einfach in die Spülmaschine. Die Mess-Skala sieht ebenfalls noch aus wie neu, jeder einzelne Strich lässt sich ablesen.Ich bin mit diesem Qualitätsprodukt super zufrieden. Für mich liegt der Vorteil in einem Messbecher aus Glas darin, dass diese geschmacksneutral sind und kratztest.Ich kann den Messbecher uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.Wenn meine Bewertung hilfreich war, würde ich mich über einen Klick freuen.

I have been using these jugs for years. They never crack and can be used with boiling water. I've not noticed the red writing come off but I don't use these in a dishwasher although you can probably wash in the dishwasher. They are sturdy without being too heavy. We have them in varying sizes. I have smashed one when dropping it on the floor but I have slate tiles so it's not the fault of the jug.It came packaged very well and was received within the estimated time so really great there :)If would be great if you could please let me know if you like my reviews by hitting the helpful button. This Pyrex jug is quite a useful size, with measurements for both repeated on the opposite side, making it easy to use by left or right handers.The jug is made of thick glass and is relatively heavy as a result. The handle is comfortable and feels safe in use (you can get a good grip), with sufficient gap to avoid the potential to burn fingers if used for hot liquids. The jug itself is sized sufficiently that you can whisk ingredients inside rather than use a bowl and it also pours well.Whilst described as dishwasher safe, all of mine tended to get scratched if washed that way, not enough to lose the measuring markers, but it does get a little unsightly. Washing by hand is easy and probably better.This is my third Pyrex jug. I can vouch for the fact that they shatter into nasty pieces of glass if dropped (first jug) and are also prone to chip (second jug lost a good inch of glass, with fragments, when something caught against it in the cupboard); they are not indestructible. I did think long and hard whether to get another Pyrex jug given this would be my third but the alternatives just did not measure up.

Perfect if you need a smaller jug to heat stuff up for your infant, this is a pint or a bit less if you want 500ml or half a litre. Pyrex jugs may not be one of the most glamorous kitchen accoutrements but they are definitely one of the most useful. My parents have owned an old Pyrex measuring jug for something like the past 25 years (or more!) and, aside from being quite a lot more scratched than it used to be, it still works perfectly well.This new jug seems made along more or less the same lines as the old one - they have a similar size, a similar thickness and a similar heft, only the new one has a straight handle that's fixed only at the top rather than the curved, double-fixed handle of old. In most other respects the old and new jugs appear pretty much identical, except that this time around the measurement scales are printed in a fetching red type, as opposed to blue. There are actually two scales, giving measurements in two sets of increments - up to a pint on the right-hand scale and up to 500ml on the left. Both scales are printed on opposing sides of the jug so they can be seen irrespective of which way the jug is facing.The jug's pouring spout has come under fire from some reviewers as being less like a pouring spout and more like a torrential flooding spout, and while you do have to be a bit careful when pouring, I think the same has always been true with Pyrex jugs like this. I don't know if there's a particular reason for keeping them like this, but if they could be made with a less shallow spout, I think this would help matters quite a lot.Most families have owned a Pyrex jug at one time or another and this one continues the tradition very well. I'm not sure that I prefer the single-fixed design of the handle as the double-fixed ones of old, but that's just my preference and in all other respects this jug is at least as good as the old ones. Just be a bit careful when pouring from it!

Super awesome, easy to use and useful. I use it for all kinds of stuff like soaking nuts and beans, mixing pancakes batter, even washing fruits. Replaced my previous plastic measuring cup. It’s a pity I didn’t see that the measurements are in pints(other than mililitres and fluid ounces). It would have been better to be in cups, but that’s not a big deal.

Great product which does the job beautifully. I have had a similar measuring jug for about 15 years and dropped it the other day. This replacement is made in the same robust glass, with easy to read measurements down the side, in a number of different, useful way. Easy to read, easy to use and great for microwave use too.Delivered quickly and straight into use! Very happy.

What an exceptional price as an 'add-on'!Bought two as mine was scratched.Not so healthy to use once this happens.Highly recommended.So useful to freeze liquids in as well as daily use.Just bought 2 more as broke a new one recently.Not that easy to break but if was knocked off the kitchen worktop.The measure markings do stay on too.They were well padded & packed,Highly recommended.

I've always owned these jugs, but having moved to France I found myself unable to get them at any shop here! Very glad that I was able to order them online (don't mind paying through the nose, these things are worth it!)I bake almost every day and other than using these for measurements, I also use them for melting (on the stove, in the microwave) mixing, storing etc. No household should go without one (or 2 ) of these.

I love Pyrex so well made and unless you break them accidentally they last, and this one is no exception. It is only a small jug but it is thick and strong, all the measurements are clear and these haven’t faded through time of repeated washing.

I love these. I rarely use then for measuring – they are great for microwaving vegetables, pasta, curries etc. without worrying about picking up a hot dish as the handle is always cool. They also last well with repeated cleaning in the dishwasher.

This is a perfect measuring jug for 'most' of the smaller family kitchen needs.I noticed there was a review about these having 'oclusions' in the glass making then a factory unwanted second hand product, hence the discount, but I find no such issues with my jug and its doing just fine.Thrown in it everything you can throw a Pyrex dish into and it keeps on going.The numbering is very clear for both left and right handed people and its comfortable to hold, and easy pour spout.

Love this jug. Pyrex is the best for glass products and this does not disappoint. Just the right size for what I wanted and came quickly and very well packed, so came un damaged, great condition.The measurements markings are very clear and can be read easily, which on some jugs I find very difficult as getting older and needing glasses makes it har dear and harder to read on clear glass if not clearly marked.

This replaces a previous jug which is so old all the measurements are unreadable hope this one lasts as long but with readable markings

Pyrex, what can you say. Had some before and they lasted years but eventually the measuring scale on the sides was worn off by the dishwasher. They are quite heavy but after wasting £13 on a plastic set that cracked when filled with boiling water I am delighted to be back with good old reliable Pyrex!
