Mrs. Anderson's Baking Pie Crust Cookie Cutters, Set of 4, Spring-Action Embossing Cutters For Pie Crusts, Cookies, And Pastry Dough

I ordered a set of these recently, after I saw pictures of a "cake" that was made by cutting out a big cake-shaped cylinder of watermelon and then using cookie cutters to cut "leaves" out of melon that you attach to the "cake" with toothpicks. I found that if I cut cantaloupe, peaches, or apples into flat, even surfaces about 1/8 inch thick, then I could use these cookie cutters to cut out shapes. These fruit shapes are absolutely adorable!! I've used them on a "watermelon cake" and for sending to school with my kids. The funniest one was when I made an apple cutout that was made of apple. Cleanup was easy -- I ran them through the dishwasher, in the top rack, in a small closed plastic basket that is meant for washing baby items. I haven't yet tried using these cookie cutters on dough, but they look to me like they would work well with dough, too. Overall, I am delighted with these cookie cutters and expect to use them many times in the future.

love these although i only use the leaf fun for use for pies and very sturdy the design is great and the shape is great very fun and the perfect size

These tools are so much fun to use. I have made a pumpkin pie today and have used the leaf shape cutter. It is very easy to use. There is also an apple shape, cherry shape and heart shape ones that was in the box. I am adding some pictures for you guys to see. I think the leaf ones can be used for maple cookies as well. Work well for pie crust. Gave it a 4 star because I thought they should be a little smaller for pie crust.

These cutters are great! I used these not only to decorate my holiday pies but I made used them to cut cute little sugar cookies! What great mini cookies - I swear they were ate up like potatoe chips! One person asked "where you get these little cookies?" Someone thought I had purchased them from Trader Joes but nooooo I actual made them with refrigerated cookie dough and these great cookie cutters. They give great detail in each shape and the springs "pop" them out for easy handling. I wish they had many other shapes!

These are cute and great for pie crust. I just wish they had more options and designs. Like an Apple for apple pie I think would be great instead of an acorn

Used these with making cookies and pie crust decorations. Great that they have push feature to push out the cutouts. Also the presses are very defined.

I recently purchased the cut-outs. They work like a charm. Dough doesn't stick to the cut-out and clean-up is a breeze - just flick off the excess flour with a clean, dry pastry brush. For example, I used them with a savoury dough on cornish pasty style meat pies for decoration and identification - maple leaf for beef, heart for chicken. Stick the cut-out on over egg washed dough and brush the cut-out with a bit more wash. They stayed on and browned up nicely. Sweet! I also made a ton of extra hearts and maple leafs with the dough scraps. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and lay the cut-outs flat. Freeze for a few hours (until completely hard) then transfer to an air-tight container for deep-freeze storage. To use: pull them out frozen and "glue" with egg wash. Voilà!

Used the maple cutout for my pecan pie this Thanksgiving, it looked great!
