Yes I tested it . water became yellow slowly and thread remained red.

Can you use safron in milk

I haven't used it in milk but don't see why it should be a problem. I think this saffron gives a beautiful colour and I have been very pleased with the quality.

Hi, I have just run a test. I put one strand in water 20 minutes ago. Now there is a patch of pale yellow surrounding the thread about an inch across. The yellow colour doesn't expand beyond this as the rest of the water is still clear in the bowl, and the thread itself is still red. So I guess it is okay. I can say it is very nice, and though not cheap it was well worth getting, and I will be reordering it when used up.
