Naked Vengeance / Vendetta [Blu-ray]

Scream Factory pairs up the women revenge films "Naked Vengeance" (1985) & "Vendetta" (1986) for a double feature bluray of exploitation sleaze. The former is a blatant ripoff of the original "I Spit On Your Grave" while the latter is a nice twist on the women in prison genre in which a woman purposely gets committed to a particular prison to get revenge on the inmates who murdered her sister. While neither film is particularly good, for fans of mid 80's sleaze this release comes highly recommended. It should be mentioned that the version of "Naked Vengeance" contained on this release is the full 97 minute uncut version.Both films which were staples of the 80's VHS scene make their high definition debut by Scream Factory sharing a dual layer blu-ray. Each film features a new 2K scan from original film elements and to my eyes look great. Presented in their original 1.85:1 aspect ratios utilizing the AVC codec and featuring robust bit rates in the low to mid 30's, colors and detail are excellent along with natural looking contrast and black levels. Film grain is present without ever being obtrusive. Scream Factory could have easily just slapped ancient HD masters on this release so the fact they went to the effort to do new 2K transfers for each film shows their dedication to going the extra mile whenever they can with their releases for fans. Sound for both is in 2 channel lossless audio. English subtitles are included for the hearing impaired. Trailers for both films are the only extras.Scream Factory delivers another great genre bluray double feature with this particular release. Fans of 80's sleaze and women revenge films should not hesitate picking it up.

Shout/Scream Factory bluray.I haven't seen Vendetta yet, but man, Naked Vengeance is awesome! And it's finally restored to its uncut glory - the sex and violence, rough by mid-eighties standards is back. A throwback to the 70s, as it were.A true bright spot in 80s exploitation - brought to you by the late, great Cirio H. Santiago. He (and his films) are profiled in the excellent doc, Machete Maidens, directed by Mark Hartley as a follow-up to his Not Quite Hollywood.Santiago had been in the biz since the early 60s. The Philippines' Roger Corman (with whom Santiago had a ten year partnership with). W.I.P., horror, sexploitation, chop-socky and none of the above. Cirio did em all.The plot of Naked Vengeance is synopsized in the product description, but trust me, it doesn't come close to the sleazy kicks to be had while watching this one.A rare example of The Cheese Factor greatly improving upon a film. Hilarious dialogue, ridiculous plot and while ostensibly set in California, this could've been filmed anywhere - lots of suspect signage. Although, there is an authentic location shot in NYCs Times Square - the Marquee(s) jibe with the period. Score!Glad I took a gamble on this one - a great party movie.Looks and sounds great. Goofy trailers(of films on disc) and subtitles.Worth every penny!

Great revenge movie. Not family viewing.

Awesome, totally 80s, tacky B soundtrack And a great leading actress make this I for an eye a cult cut above the rest.

Wish the DVD also had a 133,1 full screen version of Naked Vengeance along with the 178.1 but still a pretty good DVD.

Cirio H. Santiago who made the glorious Wheels of Fire has another winner with the entertainingly sleazy cheesy 80s rape/Revenge film

Not bad. Basically ladies don't move to Silver Lake. All men there are rapists. Descent movie though, nice 80's revenge flick to pass time.

husband gets murdered while protecting a women being raped. parents get murdered after walking in on her getting gang raped. THEN she finally seeks justice after the cops did nothing but promote the offender's behaviors while putting blame on the victim.you get ONE instance of naked vengeance. worst super hero ever
