6860 Preziosa Stainless Steel 3-Cup French Press Coffee Maker, Silver (06860)

I used a cheaper version before buying this one, and I can tell from someone that brews coffee every single day, that this thing will last forever given proper care. Every thing fits snug, and it has enough capacity for a big mug. French press requires some patience to filter the coffee. Don’t push it down as soon as you pour hot water on the coffee, or you will have problems to push it completely down and spill some of grounds on the filtered portion. For a good experience in flavor, allow it to sit for at least 3-4 minutes before you push the filter down. As the fat from the coffee leaves the grounds, releasing flavor, the particles will start to decant and pushing the filter down will offer no resistance. I also do recommend to rinse it as soon as you pour the coffee on a mug, it is easier to clean it when it’s still warm. It’s a good investment for a one time buy

This unit is wonderful. Best French Press Style beverage maker I have owned. The glass is of very high quality and holds heat reasonably well. The press unit is smooth and quiet, no scraping noise as with many other units. I purchased this to make tea (looseleaf teas) and it is fantastic. It cleans so easy and because it is glass there is virtually no residue left. I ran out of coffee one morning and was too lazy to put up a full pot of coffee so I used this to brew some fresh...easy as can be and very good cup-o-Joe. Cleaned it very well and am ordering another just for coffee. Very attractive unit so makes quite a nice gift.

Preziosa! Beautiful Coffee Maker. It does a clean coffee. Perfec size for me. It is super easy to use. It is made in Stainless Steel and is easy to clean. The taste of the coffee deppends on the brew time. The lid closes perfectly.

Love this little guy! It's just enough for one 10 oz. mug of coffee or tea. It's the smallest press I've seen, which I like because it takes up less space. If you need to do two American sized mugs, this will be too small. (When they say "3-cup", they are referring to espresso sized shots). It's such a beautiful, polished stainless design, I keep it right on the counter after rinsing. It's like a work of kitchen art, compared to my old plastic Bodum which was bigger than I needed and bulky. The beaker is like one you will remember from chemistry class. It's rather thin glass, so I'm careful to stir lightly when I put a spoon in, and when rinsing. It slides easily out of the holder when you turn it upside down to rinse, so be careful when doing so. I was a little nervous about pouring boiling water into it, but it's fine! I've used it about 20 times and am so pleased I bought it.

Watch the video. We bought this thinking it held 8 cups. It says 8 cups in the listing on Amazon, and says 8 cups on the side of the carafe, but it only holds a little over 4 cups. We've already got a three-to-four-cup press and ordered this one because we wanted to serve more people on a single press. Lesson learned: we went back to Amazon and discovered there are a very few other companies selling "8-cup, 32 ounce" presses. (The description of this Bialetti says nothing about "ounces.") Last we looked, there are 8 ounces in a cup, so an 8-cup press should hold 64 ounces, not 32, right? Maybe there's an international treaty that allows some press makers to pretend there are only 4 ounces in a cup, but we couldn't find that anywhere. Moral of the story? When buying a French Press, pay attention to capacity expressed only in ounces, not cups.

Dommage pour le plastique [polypropylène (PP5)] dans le couvercle ! Mais il est facile à enlevé à la main ! (grâce au dévissage et revissage prévu pour l'entretien) je n'ai pas eu besoin d'outils. une fois enlevé le couvercle ne fait plus bouchon (ne fait plus joint), et il n'est plus possible de le tourné pour ouvrir ou fermer le bec, mais c'est gadget et relativement inutile ! il fonctionne à la perfection sans ! c'est le seul plastique qu'il y a dedans ! le verre est assez fin, il filtre bien et sans forcé (avec la bonne mouture) ! un peu galère à nettoyé. le petit modèle remplie un bon Mug.
