I’ve named it Beast. Great trimmer and will cut thick branches, but heavy. *by K***R on January 8, 2023* I like that it is a multi head tool (PH1400) with a large array of attachments. I purchased the multi tool with the hedge trimmer attachment. The trimmer lives up to it’s claim of cutting 1 inch growth, which is why I call it the Beast. If you don’t want it cut, don’t get it close. It is very maneuverable with dual blade rotation. The blade will rotate to a vertical cutting position or a horizontal position. The blade will also tilt on it’s axis allowing you to easily cut the top of a large shrub, or get behind a wall hugging shrub.If it has any drawbacks, it would be the weight and possibly the battery duration. The Hedge trimmer is definitely heavy. This is necessary in order to have long reach, as well as the ability to cut thick growth. This is not a judgement of the weight, just pointing it out. Because of the weight it performs as advertised.The battery life is adequate, and possibly excellent when changing to slow speed. I have an older Ego blower, which uses the same battery. It’s not that old in terms of hours used, and it’s charge duration has weakened significantly. I understand I can purchase batteries with a higher aH rating, but cost is a definite factor. It would be nice to see some type of battery trade in program for customer retention.In summary, I would definitely purchase again, and recommend to anyone. Neighbors have stopped and asked about when I was trimming the top of an ornamental which is 12 feet high. I would have NEVER believed that a battery powered device would work so good.After 3 days of using the edger and EGO leaf blower they seem to be not as heavy,,, hmmmmm good workout for this 68 year old Navy vet :)))I needed a new String trimmer because my gas powered one died after 13 years of use. It was Prime days so I found the EGO String trimmer and edger to be too good of a deal to pass up.Pros, I edged approximately 75 yards in length. It’s the first time I used an edger on my neighbors sidewalk and mine including my driveway.It cut like a hot knife going through warm butter. The battery did not even get to half charge yet.It’s really quiet as one would expect from a battery powered lawn tool.Excellent battery life.It’s great not having to mix fuel or coming into the house smelling of fuel fumes! I’m also not ruining my ears anymore than they already are. :))It’s really easy to change out the different attachments.For my yard work battery works long until the need recharging.Cons……Wow this EGO is heavy. Most of the reviews suggested to purchase the shoulder strap, I too would suggest that. Even using the edger with the guide wheel, it became apparent that I should have ordered the strap at the same time. I placed the order for strap before I used this powerful machine. It will be nice when it arrives.Being as it’s the first time I ever used an edger on my property I’m sure I’ll need a new blade soon.
