Super Dolce Pizza Sauce #10

this sauce to me is the best sauce for pizza, spaghetti, or any other Italian dish. it is super thick so it will go alot further when you combine it with san marzano sauce and blend them together. it is sweet with a glistening sheen and deep red color. once i blend it with san marzano sauce i bag it in freezer bags.

I use this product to make homemade pizza sauce.2 cups of the super Dolce, one 28 oz Scalfani crushed tomatoes, one diced sweet onion, 1 fresh minced garlic , sea salt and fresh cracked pepper and red pepper flakes, simmer for 30 minutes add some fresh grated parmigiana-Romano cheese and 2 Tablespoons of sugar., the best sauce for homemade pizza, Sicilian pizza, pasta and gnocchi. Last a month in the refrigerator or freeze.

I read so many recipes and reviews on pizza sauce, and this particular product, "Super Dolce Pizza Sauce #10" came up several times. I decided to order it because of the good reviews. I was surprised how very thick & pasty it is, and doesn't really taste like pizza sauce to me. I also read reviews that say this is often used as a base and many people add other ingredients/spices to it. That makes more sense to me, and I will try that. For now, I have a HUGE can of this and decided to transfer it to smaller vacuum/sealed portions and freeze for later.It's really hard reading reviews on food items because everyone has their own preference of taste. I respect the other reviews where people love this, it just isn't for me. My husband felt the same way as I did when he tried it - highly disappointed.

Sweet and flavorful this sauce could stand easily on it's own but as part of a master recipe, it is amazing.

Super thick sauce almost broke our blender.

Super Duper Dolce...this is a thick robust paste with great flavor

I purchased this product because of the Pizza Bible recommendation. I had used a number of the products recommended in that book for crushed tomatoes, and I thought I would try this product as well. It is quite flavorful, albeit a titch sweet. I have found that doctoring it a bit with garlic and oregano, the mixture it takes on the greater complexity that I found missing. For us it is an easy excellent base. We repackaged and froze it in "single" pizza size (about 1 1/2 cups for a Siciliain 12" x 18" pizza works just fine). We will repurchase it.

Keep it on hand if u make a lot of Italian food
