Very nice phone.
The phone is a very nice reproduction of a rotary type phone from around the mid 1900's. The dial is metal and the body of the phone is plastic with a old fashioned bakelite texture finish. The rotary dial is a working rotary, not fake push button type. There is a mechanical bell ringer, not a fake sound effect. This phone works with devices such as "Cell2Jack" for an easy bluetooth cellular interface and the mechanical bell ringer works fine with at least Cell2Jack I have found. There is modern features built in such as the # and * position on the rotary dial, center speakerphone button on the dial and last number redial button on the dial fingerstop. One thing worth noting... if you use or charge your cell phone too close to this phone it can cause digital static noise on the this phone while making an actual call on it. So, before thinking your phone has poor quality call audio, try moving any cell phones or other RFI causing devices further away (about 5 feet or more) from this phone. Otherwise, this phone is a fine phone and I am really enjoying using it with a cellular interface to provide an old fashioned desk phone to my home without the need for a telco landline account by using Cell2Jack as a cellular interface.

Vintage Inspired Phone with Rotary Dialing
I love vintage and antique items. I find vintage cradle phones from the 1930's and 1940's especially beautiful with their curvaceous lines and solid bodies. Modern phones are just not that esthetically pleasing. Yes, they are more efficient, but that's all. I wanted a real vintage phone but many that are still left are needing complete overhauls or the ones that have been completely fixed up are incredible expensive. Several years back I found some reproductions, but I don't think rotary dialing was available. Modern phones were made to look like the vintage ones, but they only had the push button dial. I remember rotary dialing when I was a kid. If a reproduction doesn't have rotary dialing, then what's the point? I purchased a new house, so I knew I wanted a landline. I wanted a vintage looking phone so I went searching on the web. I came across many on Amazon and lo and behold there were vintage inspired phones with rotary dialing and also with the unique bell ringing sound of the old phones. I came across this model because it was a great price and had the features that I was looking for. It's not the same as the real thing, but it comes pretty close. It has the look of a 1940's cradle phone, similar weight, rotary dialing and bell tone ringing sound. I'm pretty happy. In the future I'll check this brand for more models.

This classic looking phone actually works well!
Okay, so it is a rotary looking old style phone that actually uses modern touch tone technology to make call and even has a speed last number redial function. It will work on any system that allows a modern phone to work including VOIP phone service! I use it with a magicjack and it works great and makes a cool conversation piece. The way it works is NOT with pulse dial service that the original old rotarty phones used instead you dial the rotary dial with your finger in the correctly numbered hole and as you turn the dial all the way to the end, there is a small metal catch that your finger must depress which creates the correct tone for dialing, it even has a "#" and a "*" that rotary phones never had. So they really can be used for making any type of call in a modern world yet have the authentic feel of the rotary phones from yesteryear's gone by. It also feels substantial like an older phone would have making the hand-piece comfortable to hold and use. I highly recommend this for the affordable price, you won't regret it. The only problem you might experience is if you intend to use this as an extension phone at the same time as others are talking on another extension at the same time, then the volume becomes pretty low, I suspect it is because modern voip systems don't supply enough current to power more than one phone at a time unless the phones are connected to power and supply their own current for functioning. You can have it hooked up as a second or third phone with no problem as long as you don't talk on it at the same time as others are on another extension phone on that line (if your phone line doesn't supply enough current as my magicjack and most VOIP systems don't).

Died quickly and shotty sound
I loved the look of this phone and for a little while it worked with my cell2jack. Unfortunately the whole phone stopped working for several months. I decided to try it again and got the speaker working, but the handset no longer works unless the speaker is also on. Not worth the price for something that will only last a few months. Even when the handset/earpiece worked, it was scratchy and too quiet, and you’d lose sound completely if you moved the cord too much.

Nice vintage look and feel
I like this phone a lot. Our setup is with a splitter going to this phone and a cordless base station. I have the cordless on mute and let this phone ring. This allows me to have a satellite cordless in another part of the house. Also still allows me to take calls and wander around if I need to. Most of the time I sit right next to the phone cause its just a fun to use. I love some things about this phone: 1) The Ring is fantastic and relaxing. I love hearing it ring 2) the feel of the handset is authentic even though it's plastic 3) the overall look is great. It looks nice on our end table and everyone loves it 4) works flawlessly with voip.ms service and obihai 100 box for very cheap home phone What I'd want to improve: 1) Would like to be able to control the volume a bit 2) Speakerphone speaker and mic are on bottom of phone making it hard for anyone to hear us and others are slightly muffled 3) Would have liked jack option on the other side of the phone so I could put the handset plugged in in either spot. 4) Phone is decently heavy, but does slide around when dialing, maybe some "grippier" feet would help. It's a fun phone with a nice vintage look and feel.

Antique Looking Classy Modern Rotary Phone
I needed to replace our old trimline landline phone because it was just a temporary phone until we could get a nicer one. With that said, I started my hunt for a classic rotary phone and this one was the first I came across! So glad I did. It had a video to it so I clicked on it right away and was pleasantly pleased at what I saw. What a nice phone. The ringer is perfect (sounds like an old antique phone) and the front dial is beautiful and very well made. I just got the phone and have started using it for a couple of days. So far it works perfectly. What I like most about it is it's not a cheap light feeling phone. It's heavy and durable. This attractive phone looks and feels like it will withstand the test of time. I highly recommend this phone and the Seller! Fast shipping, packaged to perfection and exactly as described. Many Thanks to the Seller for their outstanding Customer Service. I'm very pleased to say the least. Peace and Love to all <3 Stay Safe out there. OPERATION OF PHONE: From User Manual with the Phone - Receiving a Call (Pick up handset on the phone when the phone rings and place handset back on the phone when finished) - Handfree Function (the center button is a handfree key. When receiving a call or dialing a call you can press it to release handfree function) - Dialing a Call (use the rotary dial on the front of the phone to call out numbers - very easy/user friendly) - Redial Function (after dialing the number - Extensions/Switches (these are not available)

Only Recommend as a Novelty
If you are looking for a quaint way to place an old-fashioned phone call, this telephone will certainly serve that purpose. (Just avoid the instruction manual with horribly worded English that makes no sense. Remember when manuals were grammatically correct? Well that part of history wasn't replicated unfortunately.) Some reviews state you need to hold the device with one hand or it will slide around while dialing. This absolutely does not happen to me, nor do I understand how it would unless I'm lost at sea, so that's a plus. It's best feature of course is it's rather clever way to incorporate a rotary dial into the modern phone era. But believe me when I say the fun factor of dialing a number like you remember back in the good old days can wear off pretty quickly. If you need to call someone back a few times, it'll get old FAST! If you think you'll just use the redial feature on the phone, I can assure you that you will not. This surprised me, since I haven't seen any other review complain about this, but the redial button flat out does not work. You can hear the tones go out like a typical redial button - but it'll never connect. As I said, since no one else complained about it I assumed mine was defective. I returned the first one and bought another, but the replacement has the exact same problem. So really, I would only recommend this as a novelty. I certainly wouldn't use it as my primary phone. (Maybe the good old days weren't as good as I remembered.)

Love this beautiful phone
Our little girl has wanted a play phone for awhile. I have fond memories of having a rotary phone my mom bought me at a thrift store when I was a child. Nowadays a real vintage one cost a lot of money. When she saw this she immediately wanted it. I’m glad we bought this one. It is heavy and has a nice ring to it when you hang it up. The rotary dial makes a pleasing sound and smoothly dials. The pink is not as bright as the picture shows. It’s a softer pink that I liked better. Our my daughter said even though it wasn’t the pink she wanted she’s very happy with it. If we had landlines I would buy another and hook it up!

Looks cheap and doesn't work. Returns are a nightmare.
The box it came in looked like it had been reused numerous times. Looks like no-one wants this phone but they keep selling it!
