I'm new to watercolor and started off with less expensive paper than this. It did ok. One kind I had to stretch and the other I didn't. I was under the impression that this paper being in block along with me taping a border would keep buckling to a minimum. I was wrong. The paper does take on water well, but maybe too well. I do like the feel of it with the paint and brush, just not the buckling. I guess I'll be stretching this first. I stand correct. I let the paper stay on the block overnight and it corrected itself.

I’m only a beginner but even as a beginner, I’ve noticed the difference in how much better this paper is compared to the other cheaper watercolor paper I’ve used. I will buy this paper again. If you like the effect of the paint blooming, this paper does that. I always wondered why I couldn’t get that effect with the cheaper watercolor paper. Highly recommend.

This was a pretty decent block of watercolor paper. I was skeptical at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s good. The only thing I had an issue was how thin it was, and it was a bit difficult to separate from the block. That was my only main issue. The other minor flaw was if you don’t use enough water and paint, it can dry quickly, and then when you’re still painting that first layer, it can sort of ruin the look, especially if you want that first layer to be uniform. It can warp if you are constantly re-wetting the surface, so it’s best to tape the edges down so it doesn’t mess up your work. Other than that, it’s a good inexpensive paper to use for simple projects.

This is high quality paper at an excellent price. Other reviewers have said that it's difficult to separate the paper from the block once the painting is finished. I have not found this to be the case. There is one spot along the top of the page where the glue isn't present, and it's simple to start there and peel the page away from the rest of the block. I've been very pleased with it (once I figured that out!). It works well and, as I mentioned, the paper is high quality. I prefer using a block to avoid the hassle of taping, having paint leak under the tape, etc.

I really enjoy this watercolor block. The paper is thick, durable, and the cold pressed and rough both have beautiful texture. I purchased a stack of various sizes about a year ago and added them to my already overflowing drawer of watercolor paper. I noticed recently that I had just used my last sheet from all those blocks I purchased, and my “premium artist grade” papers are still there. This paper does not buckle since it’s in a block, and I haven’t had problems with bleed through or pealing at all.

Excellent quality paper. Colors are vibrant after drying, wet on wet technique can be executed seamlessly. All kinds of color blending also gives very good outcomes. The texture is typical cold pressed, very good and absorbent. It's worth trying.
