Spare lids available (compared to other so called "bargain" hydration brands).
The most important thing available to an economic & eco-pledge (ie reduce "one time use" plastic waste). We have been using & buying SIGG for in excess of 20 years (some very old bottles, our daughters first "sippy cup" (now often used for milk when day travelling). & after this lid "variant" proved so successful that we tried the secondary incarnation for our then young daughter some years back as an alternative for school. She has had hers for around 4 years, all is well, never removed the gasket but cleaned & soaked the lid & body thoroughly by hand in the sink, it has never missed a beat ..when not used by idiots. IE, daughter has a well padded Dakine back-pack for school kit with a suitable (deep) outer mesh side pocket that sits this well & grips it so it has never flown out. She also stashes it (late mornings) inside, it's never leaked No odour / funk from repeated use, has always stayed taste neutral (helped by the fact that kidddo doesn't like fizzy drinks) ..whereas the wife sticks dr pepper (part carbonated) or vimto squash in her bottle, ...whilst it seals, the gas release go's off like a pistol crack (down to carbonation) ..& again no taint when regularly rinsed drained & aired. The lid is simple for one hand release (ideal) & lock. Lid springs open to a great degree so driving is not too much of a problem whilst sipping occasionally to keep alert & hydrated. The bottle lid is replaceable (lid is "WMB ONE" denoting "WIDE MOUTH BOTTLE on the sigg accessory listings ..via their own website) likely available via decent outdoors shops too... therefore the lid is interchangeable within a good amount of Sigg product of the WMB range from years past, so I can use the same lid on my aluminium 1 litre & 750 ml bottles accordingly, or depending on requirements swap other lid & tube suck versions making the Sigg range a very compelling purchase (especially after a price drop). We regularly buy Siggs as gifts ..water bottles / flasks / thermos types get used way more often than people think so they make good "stash away" presents that never go out of fashion (hint) Air dry upside down on a rack after wash & rinse by hand, we never stick these in the dishwasher due to the recycled water & gunk of a dishwasher, that & it uses additional chemicals & salts, so a hot water clean, occasional sterilisation tablet soak & scrub works for us ..with air drying after the rinse stage on a rack, besides, heat affects plastic eventually so we'd rather not risk it. THE BONE OF CONTENTION: ..I'm honest & "try" to do my research, plastics OVERALL aren't that good for you (microplastic ingestion) ..or metals (aluminium bottles but with the eco liner) all have drawbacks ..but you'll always grab a plastic bottle of coke, an aluminium can of pop / beer (no liner) that has been "tested" safe for one off use, you still buy cans of tomato's & beans some in lined cans some in straight steel, ...all have reactions somewhere along the line, or after something acidic has spent too long in the container, & TRITAN is not perfect, just a bit better on the scale of what is ingested over time, the school of thought is that you swap one bad plastic for another (though context is everything) ..& Sigg have been a darn sight clearer for years as to limiting ingestion of micro plastics compared to the blanket ban on what shale gas / oil Fracking companies use for pumping into ground water (look it up, it is "secret" on a government level due to allowing harm rather than stopping harm in the first place) ..so you make your choice & you live with it. But, a reusable drinks bottle gets used time & time over, it can be repaired (to a point) & recycled at the point of no return, reducing landfill & raw material processing (ie reducing reliance on oil & advancing use of alternatives / blends, ..the history of "modal" material construction is a good example of this if you "wiki it". As a premium brand bottle(s) owner we have bottles that are in use several decades later (& counting) ..interchangeable components & easily located spares, ...this model continues the ethos of investing in a Sigg. Whilst there are some negative reviews saying it's too weak (clips) ..someone likely dropped a full bottle onto concrete / tarmac from height & it bounced at an angle & broke, ....this has only ever happened to us ONCE in 6+ years of this type of design & the bottle lid (for a much heavier FULL s/steel 500ml Sigg "hot & cold" one) still didn't leak (though I was careful) surviving a xmas day on the mountain snowboarding ..our Siggs come with us, we just empty them prior to airport security & fill them the other side ....swiss prices! For a contextual comparison, December 2019 winter season, we, (2 of us) rushed out for first lines, forgot a bottle had drunk a 750ml by the time we got to the lift station up the hill from town, did a quick refill at the only available place a coffee kiosk, ..500ml of evian cost 5 EURO ..lesson learnt I hope ..that was more expensive than the Siggs we bought today (£3.12 each) on a deal ..in essence you only have to use these a few times before they've paid for themselves & water refills are becoming more prominent than ever before (yes there's an app for that). Sigg are well supported in UK, Europe & North America, Asia as a renowned global brand, they have quality, durability & spares availability, ..can you say that of the cheapo generic bottles of questionable origin?

Great bottle just don't over-tighten the screw lid!
This was the 0.75L Version (although they would all be the same just different size). Great bottle. Holds more than enough liquid. Screw on top (which you can also buy separately). Keeps air tight. At first I had a problem where it was leaking a little (as some reviewers have said) but I then realized what I was doing wrong: Inside the lid there is a rubber ring. When you tighten the lid after filling, make sure you don't tighten it too much. Tighten until it stops and then just add maybe one more centimeter or two of a turn (if that makes any sense) BUT THEN STOP!! If you go too tight then what happens is the rubber ring is squashed so much that it is forced out of it's position and ends up inside the tank! I know it sounds strange but it has happened to me a few times. So as long as you don't over tighten it will not leak at all! So moving on... On the top is a lock switch. This locks the lid closed. When unlocked, which is easily done with one hand by flicking it upwards, the release button can be pressed which will then release the actual flip lid so it will flip open by itself (spring loaded). There is then a hole about 1.5cm wide that you can pour or drink out of. It is then easily closed back up with one hand. On the inside of the flip lid is a soft rubber circle that presses against the 'pour hole' in order to keep the liquid from leaking. Also on the very top of the lid is a 'loop' type thing (lol). This I find very useful as I keep this bottle in a rucksack in work and having this loop makes it so much easier to yank out of my bag when needed. Also when carrying this bottle along with other stuff I can just have one finger in the loop and carry it along easily! Brilliant! The tank itself feels quite durable although if dropped from a height of more than 6ft I would imagine it might crack (disclaimer – I haven't tested this so it might not) but that's how it feels to me. It does scratch easily though (that I have tested!). All in all though it is a great drinking bottle. I really like it and will be using it until it dies! And I will update this when/if it does so you know how long it lasted. Recommended? - YES! Watch HD video on my YouTube channel – RedUnbox. Best bottle ever, better than Nalgene
I first tried the popular Nalgene bottle. Was very hard to close, needed two hands and even then I needed to push very hard. The thingy that inserts into the slit seemed fragile. This bottle doesn't have these drawbacks, yet it has all the positives: durable tasteless and safe Tritan material, opening with one hand, carry loop, lock mechanism. Even those functions are easier and more comfortable. It doesn't leak and I like how the cap flips all the way to the back, with Nalgene you have to push it back or it's in your face. This bottle deserves more praise, for sure.

This is the only water bottle you need
This is the leak-free, sturdy but light water bottle that you’re looking for. Both kids have been using them since they returned to school. They absolutely don’t leak, wash well & the lid & hinge won’t snap. They’ve survived the playground & the kids love taking them on days out too because of the handle. They love the ‘push’ button that opens the lid. Also it means the ‘mouthpiece’ stays clean & Covid safe. I won’t be buying any other water bottles in future.
