Utter rubbish
Hopefully you can see from the sole wear these have had little use over the past year ( 3 months of which I was resting a broken leg) . Bought because I chose to return to Merrell after about 10 years with another brand. Will be returning to that other brand. Merrell quality is rubbish. Very disappointed and I appear to be one of very many here. DO NOT BUY if you depend on good footwear for walking. I bought these for casual wear and they didn’t last 14 months of light use occasionally. I also thought the discomfort I experienced was my problem…..looking at other comments I’m glad to see it the shoes, not me. Hope this helps you.

Look great, comfortable, fit
I take an 11 and these fit true to size. Snug, but comfortable out of the box. Look really good and obviously quality. Let's see how they hold up over time, but pleased so far.**UPDATE**Rating changed to reflect shocking lack of durability. The soles (not sure if a Vibram or Merrell issue) are seriously weak and on BOTH shoes have started to peel away - on the right shoe, a chunk of rubber (about the size of a 10p piece) has just flaked away, leaving a hole, and on the left shoe, there's a huge strip that's threatening to peel away which I've had to superglue twice. It won't hold for very long though.Seriously terrible manufacturing here. Avoid avoid avoid. For a £65 pair of shoes I'm not happy.

Merrill Footwear
Worn for the first time, are a bit tight but I expect that to change after wearing more, but are comfortable and a good fit.

An excellent urban walking shoe
I bought these to replace a pair of Merrell Blaze Low walking shoes that were just plain worn out! I chose the Annex Trak Low as a replacement as it's a slightly lighter weight shoe than the Blaze, and I didn't need the added weight of the waterproof feature since I proof my shoes with a water repellent spray, this works fine in all but the wettest conditions. I walk 2 km to and from work each day and wanted a shoe that was also comfortable enough to wear all day at work. The first thing I do with a walking shoe is to replace the fitted insole with a good quality sports insole, and I simply reused the Superfeet Green insoles from my old pair of Blazes. The Superfeet Green is the best sports insole I've found, and although they're pricey (around £30), they are super comfortable and they last forever! I also replaced the standard flat laces with a better quality round sports lace.Fitting wise, I take a UK 10 / EU 44 and wear my shoes with a normal cotton sock. Even with the slightly thicker Green insoles, the size 10 which I ordered was an excellent fit. My feet are quite broad and the width fitting was also good. If you plan to wear a thicker walking sock then I would recommend going for a half size bigger. Note that after a few km of walking, the shoes do tend to "give" a little if at first they feel slightly tight.I own several pairs of Merrell sports and lightweight walking shoes and the Annex Trak Low hasn't disappointed me.

Very poor quality!
Merrell over the last few years have really dropped in quality. They used to be my go-to brand for walking shoes, now? Just terrible sadly. This shoe is supposedly Vibram, yet after 4 months of casually walking my dog (maybe 1-2 miles per day at most) the soles are badly worn already, as you can see from the pictures. Previously merrell shoes would last 4-6 years easily, no longer can they do that. The back of the shoe, the heel, on both has broken. The soft material has all come away, the seam has split leaving just a hard, sharp surface. This has ripped holes in the back of my socks and also cut my heel.Sort yourself out Merrell!

Came apart after 4 weeks casual wear.
I love Merrell shoes, I have to say.I’ve had loads of pairs over the years. They are super comfortable straight out of the box and (usually) of excellent quality. Sadly this particular model isn’t very well made.I bought these in summer of 2021, and only started to wear them in February of 2023, so I can’t return them for a refund, but I would if I could. Much like some of the other reviews you’ll read here I experienced the same fault - the shoe upper came away from the outsole after only a half dozen outings. This only happened on the right shoe and other than the thumb sized gaping hole the rest of the shoe is fine. Not fit for purpose letting in water. I haven’t included a photo, because the defect is the same as some of the other reviews listed here.I’m more disappointed than angry.I love the brand, have other differing pairs and will still buy Merrell, but I’d say in the case of this particular model - it’s buyer beware.

Bound to break due to poor design - but they are the best shoes I have ever had
They are incredible shoes - got them in September 2021 and used them alternatively with a pair of MOABs and other Merrell shoes - exclusively during winter months. I can say that after less than a year of using them once in a while the inevitable happened and the top broke free from the sole on both sides near the toes, were the torsion is at its utmost. I don't regret getting them as they are the comfiest shoes I have ever worn - super wide, like two little king size beds for my feet. Far superior in terms of comfort to the MOABs! However, the design is flawed. I think that if they add an extra rubber element in the next version this might be the best looking - comfiest - most performant hiking shoe. At least for me.

The colour is much darker than expected.
Colour was much darker than the picture. I much prefer to purchase shoes in person as they can be tested out and walked around in without the hassle of having to potentially go back and return them. Overall they were fine, but nothing special. Lasted an average amount of time. I tend to wear shoes until they fall apart. The rubber around the edge of the sole dried out a little faster than my liking. Sole wear was mediocre. At least they were actual leather! Overall nothing special and a bit pricy.

Side blown out before 1 year old.
Not the quality I expected. Lots of tread left and one side blew out on the "little toe" side.

Chaussure merrel
Très bonne chaussures, avec de bon appuis sur la semelle. Je recommande et en plus elle sont jolies.

Best shoes ever
There are the second pair I have purchased. That speaks volumes , because they are relatively expensive, but now hard to find in my size. These are sincerely the best shoes I have ever owned. I bought the first pair while traveling in Portugal and was hooked. It looks like Merrill is phasing them out, big mistake, these are a real winner, in a day and age where there is less and less product quality and the front end of shoes come unglued, this pair stands head and shoulders above the rest. Ge some while you can!
