It has the feel of a top quality, precision piece of apparatus.It took some time to separate the lamp parts from the packing without damaging the lamp, but once unpacked, fitting it together was a minor job. Disposing of all the packing in our limited dustbin space will be a more difficult job!What was delivered was a standard 1227 table lamp and a separate floor lamp converter kit. The net result being that we ended up with a spare table base. That was an unexpected bonus and will be appreciated if the need ever arises.The cable comes pre-threaded through the arms of the table lamp, but clipping the lower part of the cable onto the floor pole feels like a bit of a design afterthought. See my photos.The supplied bulb is 8.5W 2700K. That seemed rather yellow to us. I soon changed it for 10W 6500k. A 10W LED is the maximum power recommended but is plenty bright enough.The main thing is that the lamp adjusts easily and stays put in the chosen position. That is what customers pay the premium price to achieve. It achieves that completely.Update after about a week of use, I've noticed:1. The switch is upside down compared to the UK convention. You press the top of the rocker switch for ON, the bottom for OFF.2. The head of the lamp, unlike the arm, is not balanced by springs. It has a slight tendency to move to where the rather heavy wire wants it to be. To counteract this, you can tighten the nuts to make the movement stiffer. That is fine, but the whole point of an Anglepoise lamp is that it moves with a very light touch. Not a big issue.

Got this for the wife for sewing and knitting. works perfectly, a bit expensive, but its Anglepoise.

The clip attachments for the power cable are flimsy and easily pulled off and lost. I use a bag tie to secure the lowest one through the little ring eyes and all is well. But it's somewhat at odds with such a quality product. One gets used to the upside down on and off switch.

This lamp is ideal for working on my crafts. With a daylight bulb it provides an excellent substitute for actual daylight.It is very attractive, is grey in colour, and has a lot of very positive smooth adjustments. It arrived very well packaged and I assembled it quickly. The box included a separate base if I wanted to change it to a desk lamp in the future. I believe that this lamp will give me many many years of useful life. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and functional. To be picky, the cord could be longer and the screw to convert to a floor lamp could be more robust. Apparently that's the design though and won't fall apart.

I knew exactly what I was buying as I have had the desk version for years and could have forecast 5 stars. It's a wonderful example of the longevity of excellent design. Hope nobody ever decides to "improve" it.A bonus was the ease with which it was assembled. If I can do it, anyone can.

Great product, delivered very quickly in sturdy packaging.Easy to assemble, comes with tools required and spare fixings too.Looks fab when assembled and the included E27 bulb gives off a good light. The famous mechanism works smoothly and weightlessly.

Exactly what you would expect from Anglepoise, it can be changed to a table lampAs it comes with a table lamp foot in addition to the floor stand.Not a cheap lamp but a classic design piece.
