Great system for the price and easy to install.
This is a really nice unit for the price and I had it set up and working in about 30 minutes. The positive features begin with the instructions themselves, very clear and easy to follow. I wired it directly into the backup lights on my 2010 RAM so that the camera would only go on when the truck is in reverse. This is very easy to do by just removing one of the tail light lens covers so you can see the wires, then simply splicing the red wire from the camera to the positive backup wire and the black wire to the negative wire. Splicing is very easy with the included clips but you can also just strip a small section of wire and splice it in that way if you prefer. Remember to wrap the splice with electrical tape to prevent accidental touching of metal parts on the vehicle. You may have to google which color is positive and which is negative on your vehicle but if you connect them and the system doesn’t work, simply reverse them, no harm done. Once connected simply plug the monitor into the DC jack and make sure the power button is on, then put the vehicle into reverse and the monitor should go on. It’s really that simple! I was amazed at the clarity and brightness of the display and was able to adjust the camera angle so that when the object behind me touches the red backup guidelines I know I am about three feet from the object. The monitor also comes with a stand that can be mounted on top of your dashboard for easy placement and removal of the monitor or it also includes the standard ball and socket bracket with adhesive pads to mount on the front of your dash if you prefer. The monitor also comes with a pretty long power cord which enables it to reach the 12 volt receptacle from pretty much anyplace on the dash. The monitor also has several menu buttons on the side that enable you to adjust brightness, contrast, and the visual guidelines. It is also capable of split screen so you can add another camera if you wish although I have not added a second camera so I cannot comment on this. There are only two minor negatives I will mention about this unit. The first is that the antenna that receives the signal from the camera is mounted on top of the monitor which to me is a bit clumsy. I have another unit that has the antenna mounted out of sight on the rear of the monitor and just looks better to me. But this is just a personal preference and does not affect the functionality at all. The second is that although the unit works exactly the way it was designed to work, a great addition would be an audible signal to go with the visual that alerts you when something is close behind you. That said, as stated earlier this is a great unit for the price, easy to install, and functions exactly as advertised.

E-Z-P-Z, even for an old guy. Updated
Update: Well, I have run into problems with this system. First of all, if I leave it powered on all the time, it causes my F150 to give a false "Tire Pressure System Fault." So I only power it on when I need it (pain in the ....). If I forget to turn it off, my F150 will soon remind me. Secondly, after just a few seconds, the image freezes while backing up. Basically I have about 5 seconds of use. So, I think I will look for a hard wired system to replace it.Recently the backup display on my Pioneer deck became blurry and unusable. My son who did mobile sound system installations had done all the wiring of the camera to the deck. Since he no longer does that and his job keeps him gone alot I needed something to replace it that would be easy for me to install without alot of crawling around under my 2010 F-150. After looking at what was available and reviews on different units I decided on this wireless unit by DoHonest. When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the quality of the packing. Everything fit nice and tight in the box unlike some that are just loosely thrown into a box that is too big. Following the instructions, the initial testing was easily accomplished by connecting everything to a 12 vdc power supply in the house. This morning I pulled a taillight housing off to see what color wires were connected to the backup lamp and was pleasantly surprised to find that's where my son had tapped into the backup circuit. I cut that wire at the old camera and used it to pull both red and black wires of the new camera to the housing location. Using the supplied wire tap I connected the red wire. I put a terminal connector on the black wire and attached it to the taillight metal frame work. Plugged the monitor into the 12 vdc outlet on the dash, turned it on, started the truck, put it in reverse and got a nice clear image from the camera. After tidying up the installation I checked again and all working great. Couldn't be happier. Great unit and easy install. Even for a 73 yr old. I would definitely recommend this DoHonest wireless digital backup camera and monitor.

Solid so far. Versatile, but simple install options.
I had no trouble installing on my vehicle ('06 Toyota). The manual includes a test procedure and all the wiring/gadgets you need to do the test and the install. Following test, install was completed very easily. Use common sense about wire routing through the vehicle body, using zip ties or electrical tape to bind the camera's power wire to the vehicle's wiring harness, until you get to the place where you're tapping for power. I used the backup light, which activates the camera power as soon as I put the vehicle in reverse. The monitor is also straightforward, including a versatile mount and easy power option off the cigarette lighter. While the power adapter includes a switch, you need to either leave the monitor on (could burn it out over time?) or remember to switch it on when you are backing up. I went with the 2nd option - it becomes part of the "routine" pretty quickly HOWEVER I would still much prefer a permanent "standby" mode that would turn on the screen automatically when it receives the camera signal. This would allow for powering the monitor from behind the dash and concealing the power wire, instead of via a button sticking out of your cigarette lighterThe overlaid lines on the monitor are pretty cool and quite convenient - you can move them up, down, and side-to-side to calibrate for their position on the vehicle. Another HOWEVER: the widest setting for the lines is still not actually as wide as my vehicle, so caution is warranted until you become very familiar with how to correlate what the camera is telling you with what is actually going on around/behind your vehicle.YOU SHOULD STILL TURN AROUND AND LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING, AND/OR USE YOUR MIRRORS AS YOUR PRIMARY SOURCE OF VISUAL INFORMATION WHEN BACKING UP!My conclusion: seems solidly built, has plenty of features, does what it's supposed to do pretty well. I expect it to last a while. For the money, it's a good value.

Works well as a rear view Camera
The item arrived well packed, I have not attached it to the camper trailer as yet but I have connected it up the camera works well picture is clear and will do the job I require to use it as a rear view camera and not as a reversingcamera. Well pleased so far.
