Awesome Frother
I'm going to start out with the only flaw that I've found with the frother in the 2 weeks that I have been using it. The Min and Max lines are extremely hard to read unless you have a light shining directly on them. Even in my bright kitchen I can see it until I go to pour in milk and then of course the milk carton casts a shadow over the line and they practically disappear. I'm still giving it 5 stars though since it doesn't impact the performance of the frother because once the milk gets close to the line it starts to become visible again. So if you pour slowly you will never overfill. Now on to the important part. This is an awesome little machine. I have been using for 2 weeks straight now since I first purchased it. First, I tried out using the whisk to see how well it would produce foam and I was pleasantly surprised. It produced the perfect amount of foam for a cappuccino. The frother also had no problem producing this foam with regular cows milk and with the HEB (local grocery store) Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. I have also tried Silk Almond Milk with the frother but it didn't as well with that brand in making foam for a cappuccino. I have since then switched over to using the stirrer part of the frother as I prefer latte's over cappuccinos and I don't need all the foam. This part works exceptionally well with all brands and types of milk, even chocolate milk and chocolate almond milk. It takes about 3 minutes for it to heat the milk and it produces the perfect amount of foam on top for a great latte. When using the chocolate milk it doesn't create foam at all which is perfect for a mocha. I have also tried the cold stirring for iced coffee. It does this just as well as it does the hot. On to cleaning. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars on the ease of cleaning alone! It is very simple to clean out. The almond milk I use does clean a tiny bit easier than regular cows milk, but even that is still easy. After frothing or stirring, I simply run water into the frother and then wipe it out with a paper towel. It's that easy. I've never once had to scrub or exert any amount of force to get it clean. In my usage, I have found that it's a lot easier to clean out the frother after cold stirring or frothing, which is nice. One thing I haven't tried yet is using the whisk with heavy whipping to make whipped cream as I read that it could in another review. I will update the review once I've had a chance to try that, but even if it doesn't work that well it still wouldn't detract from my 5 stars. Bottom line: If you're looking for a milk frother, this is one the one you need. No frills and thrills, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it exceptionally well. UPDATE: After using this frother for 6 months now it continues to be a workhorse in my kitchen. The only other appliance that gets more use than this is my espresso maker itself. Even after 6 months, my only complaint is still how dark the fill lines are. I have even left milk in the frother overnight by accident that dried. Filling it up with water and letting it sit for about 10 minutes allowed me to simply wipe it out with a paper towel. Overall, still one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon.

It's great, so far and a year later
We've only had this frother/steamer a short time. We've used it about 6 times to froth. It can use between 4-8 tablespoons. I put the milk in (fat-free milk works as well as 2 percent), and push the button then prepare a very strong expresso-type coffee in the Bunn MyCafe. When the coffee is finished, so is the froth. It produces a very dense foam-clearly, more than half of the milk has been quickly (and quietly) heated and frothed. The two-year warranty gives us peace of mind, but the frother appears to be very high quality-heavy and solid. It is easy to use, and it works. I couldn't be happier at this point. EDIT: Over a year now and still doing well. As I've read questions about non-dairy milks, I thought I'd add a pic and some info. The photo is of a 1/4 cup Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla from refrigerator section. I think you can see the "liquid" in the bottom of the glass. Then there is about 1/2 in of light foam--not really froth, topped by over 2 in of full froth. The peak temp. of the milk was 168 F. Frankly, I'm amazed. I wanted this to happen to coconut milk (as I had seen demo'd on a YT video--prof steamer/frother), but no such luck with three types (Silk 45 cal. unsweetened refrig.; Silk 80 cal sweetened refrig; and, So Delicious 45 cal unsweetened shelf--the one from the video). Neither of the foamy portions of the Almond milk has subsided during this edit. I hadn't added espresso since I'd already tried one earlier with coconut milk (gotta be frugal with those Nespresso pods--the ones I prefer). Of course, Almond milk is not going to the "creamy" froth of reg milk. It is a great sub low carb AND low calorie. If I really have to have the creamy, I use half and half. Full whipping type cream hasn't worked for me. EDIT, again: Somewhere in the back of my head, I realized a property found in soy and cow's milk not generally found in commercial non-dairy milks is protein. While fat gives milk the creamy feel, it also interacts with the protein which seems necessary for a real foam. The coconut milks I tried had 0 protein while the almond milk had 1 g/cup. The Silk organic unsweetened (refrig) soy milk in my fridge has 7g/1 cup. I don't like the soy milk so wouldn't use it in my espresso. This does help to explain why soy seems to be a consistent winner for non-dairy frothing.

Perfection!
This milk frother makes perfect foam. We use almond or coconut milk in it and you would never know our foam is not from a cow. It is easy to clean and has a slightly taller, thinner silhouette than its competitors if you are shy on counter top space. We had always steamed our own coffee froth with our espresso machine until we received another frother as a wedding present. We found using an electric milk frother easier to use when making multiple coffee's but also great for making Chai or hot Chocolate. Unfortunately, our first product was a Nespresso. The product worked well but it has annoying switch out parts in the lid and the inside of the container that easily fall off when cleaning. (We had to order new ones twice as I suspect ours wound up down the drain). The Kuissential Milk Frother rotator is much better designed in that there only the one piece inside. The Nespresso was quite difficult to clean (loose parts) and keep the electronics dry (which ultimately lead to its demise). The Kuissential again is designed to protect its electricals much better. When our Nespresso died (after less than two years), we consciously chose to buy another brand and did our research. Nespresso is owned by Nestle, one of the most ethically bankrupt corporations in America. Because of their practices of buying up all the global water markets (70 so far including Perrier, San Pellegrino, and Vittel) and their use of child slave labor in Africa (harvesting chocolate beans) we choose NOT to patronize any Nestle products if possible. Kuissential is not only a better product it is a 3 year young company that specializes in coffee equipment. They originally spelled their name with a "C", which I preferred personally. They have excellent customer service reviews so we decided to give them a chance with their product. We are happy we did.

Works great!
This frother is great! If I could give it 4.75 stars I would, the only reason for not being a perfect 5 would be the amount of milk that can be steamed. It is a rather small amount of milk that can be steamed at one time. I'm sure there is probably a perfectly good reason as to why the amount is what it is, but if you are hoping to make more than 8oz or so, you're out of luck. Other than that, it works great and is a breeze to clean. I'm very happy with this product, and I hope it continues to work well in the future. ***EDIT 11/28/13*** So I have had the frother not quite a month, and used it about 15 times. Today we tried to froth some milk, and the unit will not power on. We tried several outlets but no go. We only have 1 day left for a return from Amazon, so I did not contact the company directly. I am sure they would have taken care of it if I had, but I would just rather return the unit and get my money back. :( ***EDIT 04/03/14*** So I contacted Customer Support after receiving a comment from them regarding my review. They stated they really wanted a chance to make up for the faulty product I received. I, of course, said YES! Anyway... Andy from Kuissential contacted me and told me he would like me to try out the frother again after some adjustments were made. He stated the product was going under some rigorous review and re-design, and offered to send me another product when everything was finished. Fast forward to the middle of March when I received my new frother. It appears to be working well in the 2 weeks I have been using it. The reason for only 4 stars, is there is still a couple of things that are a minor inconvenience to me. 1. The lines that mark the min and max amounts are still VERY difficult to see. In the morning, when my kitchen is still dark; I have to hold it up to the light and turn it this way and that in order to see how much milk I need to use. 2. The amount to be heated/frothed is still very small. I like lattes, and I have to do a session of milk on heat only, then a session to froth. Kind of a pain, but again minor. I do want to say that this new frother must be the KING of frothers as far as it's ability to whip that milk into shape. I swear, if I threw an egg in there it could make meringue! The milk is that stiff. I still have some foam even at the end of my drink. It is so fabulous and delicious!!! I am going to try and put a tiny bit of sugar substitute in it next time (I keep forgetting) and see if I can trick myself into believing it's whip cream! :D Still very easy to clean, fast, and quiet. I am glad I got the opportunity to try it again. I will try to remember and update this review after the dreaded 30 days... to make sure everyone knows it is still going strong! Cheers :) ***EDIT 08/22/14*** New frother still going strong! I use it 1-2X daily and there has been no issue. Totally diggin the cold froth for my iced lattes this summer! An even easier clean!!! Glad I gave this unit another chance!!!

More reliable than the Aeroccino at a hlaf the cost
So, I bought a Nespresso machine and Aeroccino milk frother at the same time so that I could make soy milk lattes at home. The Nespresso makes beautiful espresso - no complaints and, initially the Aeroccino was a great little milk frother. However, about 7 months the Aeroccino became a little temperamental, shutting off without finishing the cycle or the frothing blade would pop off mid cycle. Right after the warranty expired, it just died. $100 for an Aeroccino that only gave me a couple of good months and then lots of months of frustration. In searching for alternatives, I came across the Kuissential. While I can't speak for the longevity of the unity, I've had it for two months and haven't had a single issue. It cleans easily, heats the milk thoroughly and is very easy to use. The only difference that I have observed between the Kuissential and Aeroccino involves the amount of froth each attachment produces. With SOY milk, the cappuccino frothing attachment makes a ton of froth. In fact, you're left with almost no liquid soy milk at the end of the cycle. With the second (latte) attachment, the soy milk is only very slightly frothed (a think coat on the top). In all honesty, I wish the latte blade would produce a little more froth than it does, but am otherwise exceptionally happy with the ease and consistency of use of the Kuissential, which costs about half of it's Nespresso based competitor!

Excellent Frother
Let me get the one flaw of this little machine out of the way, the same one others have identified: it is difficult to see the max fill line for hot foam. The solution is fairly simply; simply pour in just enough to cover the top of the frothed whisk mounting post, and never worry about squinting in early morning kitchen light again. Because the mounting post is black, it is very easy to see when you are about to fully submerge it in milk. If you want more liquid than foam, the latté line is easier to see. I have had other milk frothers, and all have been decent. This is the first one I can say is actually excellent at what it purports to do. Small, elegant-looking on your countertop, very easy to clean, fast working, kid-friendly, push-and-walk-away, and almost dead silent, it is a joy to use compared to every other frother I have owned. Generally speaking, I like to steam my own milk. I have a Kees van der Westen Speedster espresso machine in my kitchen (since replaced by a Slayer), and it is a true steam beast [unlike most home espresso machines]. It's so good, that it is a ritualistic pleasure in the morning to steam. And for latté microfoam, it cannot be beat, even by the Kuissential. But late at night, or early on the weekend, and for complete 10-out-of-10 times reliable cappuccino foam, the Kuissential is the winner. A couple of caveats: it will foam any kind of cow milk, including skim, extremely well. It also works well with Blue Diamond almond milk, both sweetened and flavored. The chocolate makes a great hot chocolate for the kids. But Califia Farms almond milk is a complete bust in the Kuissential. I liked the Kuissential so much, I ordered a second one for my girlfriend's kitchen, and I tested the Califia Farms in both locations. Blue Almond, fine. Califia, no go. Also, make sure to use a non-scouring sponge for cleaning the non-stick surface. The right sponge cleans the milk skin off easily, but you don't want to scratch the non-stick surface. 20230602 Update: after nine years of reliable service, my Kuissential finally gave out. I suspect this is on me. For the last year+, I have been using it to whip up my morning bulletproof coffee, which includes a LOT of stuff, such as a big lump of ghee, MCT oil, several scoops of protein, peptide, and collagen supplements, etc., and it’s whipped right through it. But today it gave up the ghost. Ordering another one, and so am also going to try it one of the newer, well rated contenders.

It Does the Job - Right Capacity, Right Temperature, Great, Dense Foam
I was concerned at first by the capacity (i like large lattes) but was pleasantly surprised at how very little milk steams and froths up nicely to fill the chamber. In fact, do NOT overfill (there are min and max marks inside for both hot and cold milk) unless you want to clean up a minor milk mess. The temperature is excellent (ready to drink) and the foam is very dense! What I usually do is brew 4-6 oz of a stronger coffee in my Kuerig, add a splash of syrup and then pour that mixture through the steamed milk and foam which I've already poured into a large coffee cup. That combination of coffee and the hot, frothed milk fill any of the largest coffee mugs I have. The foam can be so dense that pouring the coffee thru it helps, or sometimes you might need to stir the foam up a bit, mix it up with the coffee. I noticed a lot of pictures posted of burnt milk at the bottom. That will only happen if you don’t clean it after use and reheat the residue left! PS. I managed and trained managers for two leading coffee roasters and retail coffee shops for more than ten years, so I've have fairly high standards when it comes to my lattes and cappuccinos. THIS HAS SAVED ME A TON considering they just opened up a new Starbucks Drive-Thru a couple of blocks from my home.

Almost perfect
A little background before the review: I love coffee, love the taste, love the smell. I don't like it perked, and I especially dislike the taste of the new single-serve or drip coffee -- you might as well have instant coffee; I use a French press and I tend to like it strong and flavorful (not acidic). And while I don't take sugar in my coffee, I do love it with milk, not cream, not skim, not soy just plain ole regular milk. And I love frothed milk. So this is not the first frother I have had to purchase but it's the first one to merit four our of five stars from me. This is my third milk frother and it's almost perfect. I started out with one of the early glass hand-pump frothers and like many of you found that it worked fine except for the fact that hot milk in the glass container was hot to the touch, the last thing I want to do is hand pump a milk frother first thing in the morning (before having my coffee no less) and of course the glass container was tall and narrow. My hand is not tall and narrow therefore cleaning it was a bear and like many of you eventually the thin tall glass broke -- bottom line it didn't last a year and it was more trouble than the thirty bucks it cost me. On to the second frother, it was cheap and had rave reviews here on Amazon, so yeah I bought it and no it didn't work well -- I can't imagine why people gave the blasted thing such rave reviews. So now you know where I'm coming from, when I tell you that the Kuissential Deluxe Automatic Milk Frother and Warmer, Cappuccino Maker is almost perfect. It does exactly what it says it will do -- I'm using whole milk, not sure if that makes a difference but in case it does I thought I would toss that out to you -- cold or hot and it does it fast and quite. No waiting around, no messing about with preheating in a microwave, just pour the milk in and push the button. It's a virtual no-brainer and at 6 am in the morning before I've had my coffee that's exactly what I want. The teflon coating makes it easy to clean up and it looks great on the counter. I love it when things work and do what they are designed to do, so I raise my cup to you Kuissential, you delivered on a well made machine and made it reasonably affordable. Why not five stars? There are a couple of reasons: while the inside is easy to clean up, I admit that there are moments where I am a little concerned about getting water into the unit and breaking it one of these mornings. While that's not a big deal if your careful it's just something that could potentially be a problem down the line -- therefore the unit is not perfect. Then of course there's the measuring lines which have already been mentioned by a number of other reviewers, so I don't need to re-hash and go into here. Suffice it to say that after awhile you can eye-ball the amount of liquid based on the height of the whisk unit and forget about the measuring lines -- so far that's been working just fine for me and like I said, at that hour I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Please keep in mind that I'm just using it to froth, not to make hot cocoa or anything else, just the froth and nothing but the froth. So there you have it -- the measuring line and the fact that I worry about getting water on the electrical parts. Other than that ... yeah kick back and have a perfect cuppa time after time after time. Hey did I mention it also looks great on the counter. Great for cappuccino and hot chocolate
Be aware that the brand of milk is very important when using this contraption. I tried Lactantia PurFiltre and Beatrice brands in both 2% and whole milk but none of them would produce any froth. They just got hot and bubbly but not frothy enough to sit on top of the coffee, So at first I was rather disappointed and I contacted Kuissential's customer service. They were very good and more than willing to send out a replacement but I decided to try one more brand of milk and I'm glad I did. Enter Neilson's 2% and whole milk. These worked fantastically!!! They both whipped into a thick and foamy froth, the perfect consistency, and delicious on top of a cappuccino sprinkled with cocoa . As for heating milk for hot chocolate I tried it two ways 1) by mixing the sugar and cocoa in a cup with a little milk until was a syrup and then pouring the warm milk over it and stirring, and 2) combining the sugar, cocoa and milk in the frother and letting it do the mixing. I prefer the taste and simplicity of method #2 but it does require a little more clean up effort. Nothing a small green nylon scrubby sponge can't handle with ease.

Fonctionne bien
