Great Foot warmer
I use this blanket across the foot of my bed in my motorhome. It only draws 4 A so it can be operated of the house batteries when I am camping without hookups. It makes the bed warm and comfortable, even when the coach is cold and it has an automatic shutoff in case i forget and leave it turned on. I only wish there were a way to set the cut off timer to a longer period. The two times are 30 minutes and 45 minutes. I would prefer there to be a one and two hour timers as 45 minutes is not quite long enough at time. This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first one was a delightful gift and was damaged due to no fault of the device. I liked it enough to purchase a replacement.

Comfort, low power draw and room for improvement
It's been dipping into the 'teens and I've been cold. On the boat I use a Coleman SportCat PerfecTemp Catalytic Heater but at night though it takes the edge off in my cabin, I was still not warm enough. Of a certain age (call me vintage) my circulation isn't great and my feet were cold and by morning numb too. Brrr. The problem is that I'm living without AC (at anchor) from my battery bank and most of the other 12 volt "electric" blankets draw 7 amps. That's simply above my energy budget. According to the paperwork the "COMFY CRUISE 12 Volt Heated Travel Blanket" uses between 35 and 40 watts. That works for me! :)The blanket itself is soft. It is not scratchy or plastic feeling. The quality of the fabric is okay. Yes, you can feel the cords running thru it -- much like the old electric blankets we used to have back in the day. There are none of those old-type chunky parts of yesteryear. Specifically, if you roll over on the blanket you're not going to hit a lump. The male end (cigarette lighter) has a 5 amp fuse (replaceable)The cord from there to the controller is approximately 5' long. It's not chintzy but isn't big either. It is flexible. The controller is 10 inches from the blanket. Now here we're going to get into the "could be better" part. The instructions state (and I believe to be a fact) that you cannot wash (nor dry clean) this item. HOWEVER, I'm assuming if you live aboard a boat you're reasonably good with fixing things. So, when it's time to wash I'd simply cut off the cord about 1" from the controller part and make myself a reattachment point. Wash said blanket and put it back together. We've got ten inches of cord to work with -- shouldn't be a problem.AND, last grumble -- the controller has a push to turn on thing versus a switch. I can imagine this not lasting a real long time however, again, this is not a problem for anyone with two wits about them. Please understand my comments are intended for those of us who will actually USE and ABUSE this item in a harsh environment, not being "careful" all the blasted time. As advertised, for use in a car this item is a-okay as designed and one other thing I like is that the cord between the cigarette lighter and the blanket is long so you could easily tuck it between the seats and it won't be in the way.A couple other notes:#1) There is a red indicator LED on the cigarette lighter plug-in#2) When in operation there is another red LED light on the controller. All in all, after just one COMFORTABLE night I can see the error of my ways. Yes, I should have ordered Comfy Cruise 12 Volt Heated Travel Blanket Polyester Fleece Navy Blue by MAXSA Innovations (4 amps!!!) a long time ago. Now that 4 amps actually works out to a couple of amps because you don't need it on all the time. Last night, my first comfortable night in too long, WITHOUT CONSERVATION I used just less than 20 amps. I could have gotten away with less but went to bed early and read for many hours. It automatically turns itself off after either 30 or 45 minutes (user selects time) and yes, I tested both. It works as described and I will definitely recommend this blanket to my boating friends. One more thing: It comes in a storage plastic zipper container and folds to 14" x 11" x 3.5" ... not very big so will easily tuck into a locker. For those of you who wish, there is a small pouch (fabric pocket) near the controller that will fit the cord and controller so those of us who like things tidy will be well satisfied.I'm giving it a 5 star rating because it is designed and works perfectly as advertised. Boaters should realize that this item will suit our needs with the above caveats ... it's worth the money to be comfortable without costing the battery bank too much either. I'd buy this again. Thanks Maxsa for a decent product at a price point I can deal with.

Gave it to my cold-natured momma for Christmas
Most days, my mom escapes to her car for lunch at work during the week, in order to avoid co-workers clamoring for her time and attention during the one hour of her workday that belongs to only her. However, she is very cold-natured and during the winter months the "Saturn Café" is too chilly to make that arrangement a comfortable one. She parks inside a parking garage, making running the car for heat for an hour seem impractical. As a fix, I got her this heated travel blanket that plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet in the car, and she absolutely loves it! It does not draw a lot of power, so it is perfectly safe to use without fear of draining the battery, and she says it heats up quickly and keeps her nice and toasty while she enjoys her lunch hour. It has two settings for time - 45 minutes, or 60, so there's no way it can accidentally be left on, either, which is also good. She also loves the size of the blanket, which she says is more than adequate for snuggling up and keeping warm. She is pleased, therefore I am pleased.

Almost perfect!
It is soft, fluffy, and comfy. Heats up quickly, also. It is just not quite long enough. I cannot get my feet and my upper body under it at the same time to huddle up, and I am only 5'5". It also does not get hot, toasty warm, enough for the South but probably not enough for colder climates. It also had a really, really strong plastic odor when opened, so that I had to let it air outside for a couple of days before I could put it in the car. Overall, nice, does the job for me, almost perfect.

liked it
I loved this blanket until the electric cord pulled out of place. not sure if it can be repaired. it should have lasted longer than one season but for the time it worked I loved it. Otherwise I would have rated 5 stars. hubby could set car temp cooler and I could be as warm as I wanted. I didn't think it was too thin and it was warm enough for me ; and I am always COLD.

made My Christmas
I wanted to purchase for my father, he is 89 and cold. I bought one for myself and I have heated seats.I am from Okla but lived 22 years in a subtropical climate. I have not accumulated back yet to Oklahoma I used to get steroids shots in my knees, because they are injured. My Chinese doctor told me there is cold spots there and use a heating pad. I also use heating pad for my bladder to avoid problems. This blanket works great for both cold spots. This blanket was well made and worked better than my heating pad.WE have been colder than usual and I enjoyed this blanket so Much.

Love It
This blanket has been put to the test this bitter February. And came out with an A+ rating in my books. My car heater is not the greatest. I wrap it across my legs and waist and stay warm while driving. I make sure my feet aren't impeded from driving nor that the blanket interferes with the steering wheel. Easy to do. It takes a few minutes to warm up, but maintains a steady warmth. Some complain that it doesn't get warm enough. I suspect t his has to do with the user's preferences for warmth. Just remember to unplug it from the cigarette lighter or you may find yourself with a dead battery. I wonder if anybody uses a cigarette light to light cigarettes anymore?
