Review: Works as advertised, and installs quickly and easily. - I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I recently purchased a tonneau cover (Bakflip F1 in case anyone is interested, and I love it!). Since my truck didn't have a locking tailgate from the factory, and I wanted a more secure bed with the tonneau cover to store items in, I found this product to accomplish just that. To be clear however, this isn't really a lock, as much as its a block plate. Basically you use the provided key to turn a piece of metal in the way of your tailgate handle, so it cannot open. Its a simple and brilliant design, that was very easy to install, and feels of decent quality. Its also important to note that this "lock" and toneau cover are theft deterrents and doesn't make your truck bed for knox. It will however, help with the "out of sight, out of mind" concept, and deter the casual thieves.

Does it come with 2 keys ?

**Q: Will this lock work on my 04 Chevy Silverado z71?**
A: It worked just fine on a 2005 Silverado 4X4 tailgate.  If you have a backup camear it may be an issue, but I do not have one on my truck.

**Q: this piece is 100% safe for chevrolet silverado 2006?**
A: Yes it is perfectly safe! It is just as advertised. Simple installation and it works well. Provides an excellent locking solution on my 2006 Silverado. I have had it about 5 months now. It prevents the right hand latch from being opened while it is locked.

**Q: Will this lock my tailgate and not let it open or just stop from being able to remove the tailgate?**
A: I have an '07 GMC Sierra, and this completely locks the tailgate handle (and hence the removal of the tailgate itself).  I am positive that if someone WANTED to hack it, it is doable, just like anything else.  I use my lock all the time, and have been satisfied that it will deter someone from initially getting into my truck bed.

I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I recently purchased a tonneau cover (Bakflip F1 in case anyone is interested, and I love it!). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For my '07 Silverado Classic 1500

I bought this for my 2007 Silvy 1500 Classic (with a tonneau). Looks kinda factory and works well. Basically its a fancy way to jam the handle from opening when 'locked' when unlocked it just allows you to pull the handle to open. If you get a determined punk with a crowbar or some other tool, this thing ain't stoppin him, he's gettin it... Its made to give some piece of mind and to deter a quick grab of your items (if you have a bed cover) or worse your whole TAILGATE! FOR MY APPLICATION: From start to finish it took me about 20 minutes to install. I had to remove my black plastic liner off the inside of the tailgate. After the liner was off, I put one of the (2) 13mm bolts back in to hold the lock assembly in while I installed this unit (took all of 3 seconds) and bolted it up with their included security screw. REMOVE the 13mm bolt and put the black liner back on and put BOTH 13mm bolts in and all the screws for the liner. NOTE: What I did was remove the POP & LOCK sticker, looks better. On the lock solenoid itself, I took a dremel and grinded off the stamped KEY CODE right next to where you insert the key. Anyone could order up your same key and use it to access the lock. Write the key code down or keep the extra key somewhere safe. That was kinda stupid on their part. I gave it 5 stars, does what it says, easy to install, shipped fast and no issues with the unit.
