The plastic top of the bottle pops up and you squeeze out a little. I use this cleanser on the Clarisonic Mia2 facial brush, two times per day. My face feels really clean, but not dried out. Paula's is more than half the price of the Image cleanser, and I like the way my face feels better with Paula's. This 16 oz. bottle will surely last at least 2 months, maybe longer. It's done a lot to reduce my oiliness and redness, and it was the first step in getting my acne under control. That said, it absolutely does NOT remove all my makeup -- even if I use a washcloth, I will double cleanse my face with this product, because it's needed to remove all of my makeup. Even then, a few traces of mascara and/or eyeliner will likely stay behind. I never use waterproof products, so if you do, don't for a second think that this will get them all off. It's also incredibly irritating to my eyes, which are slightly sensitive. It takes off all makeup including my mascara very well and that's what matters to me. I'm so surprised this feature is not advertised in the ad. A little also goes a long way so this lasts me months. You will probably need a moisturizer after this if you are not plagued by oily skin, but I'm fine with that. I don't consider it excessively stripping to the skin either or I wouldn't be able to stand it. Every time I try another cheaper product, I keep coming back to this one. It will sting the eyes so you have to be mindful when using it. They can do much better on the cap, however. When you get to the last 25% of the bottle, it's a real pain to get it out.
