On The Go, Lunch Box Ready Banana Case (Without Carabiner) Yellow Small

My kids like to pack bananas for school and sports all the time, but no matter How we packed them, how careful we were, or how brief of a time they were in their lunchbox/backpack, the banana would come out bruised and/or discolored.One day I saw one of the kids in my kindergarten class with this and witnessed how well it worked!! So for Christmas, I bought several as stocking stuffers for my husband and my teenagers. They all laughed and swore they wouldn't be caught dead whipping one of those out of their bag in front of their friends/teammates. After lots of convincing, they agreed to try it just once. They loved how the banana was just as fresh and delicious as when they first packed it. Now they won't take a banana anywhere without one and their friends are asking where they can get one! I've left the same banana (in the case) in my lunch box for several days and it stays fresher than the bunch I took it from that is in my fruit bowl. Before this, I couldn't eat a banana that had been in my bag for 3 hours, never mind 3 days!I've seen other version of this case, but I love that this one fits all bananas with various lengths, widths, and curves. We've had them for nearly a year and haven't found a banana that doesn't fit yet. All five cases I purchased still look and work like new, including the clasp.If you like to take bananas on-the-go, you NEED one of these. You won't regret it!

I've been using this for 8 months now averaging several times a week with no complaints. Have never had a banana that wouldn't fit (small to large). My fellow workers made fun of me at first, but I'm pretty sure it was out of envy, so I bought a couple more for the workplace. :) It works extremely well to protect from bruising (prior to this I usually had some mushy brown spots in my bananas when I took them from my lunch bag). I will say that the plastic closure does feel like it might break at any moment, but no signs of weakness as of yet. Overall highly recommend!Update: it's now 6/2018 and it's still going strong. Averaging about 2-3 times per week use with no problems with that little plastic thing in the middle. Love this thing and highly recommend still.

My friend has a tendency to put her banana back in her bag when she doesn’t eat it at work. This has led to a few gross but funny occasions where we see her pull it back out a few days later all beat up. For her birthday I got her this and she has been using it every week since February! It’s held up among all the things in her backpack and keeps the banana safe from damage. It’s a funny addition to her life and we get a kick out of it every time. It also holds many different shaped bananas which is nice. I definitely recommend.

I’ve bought banana containers like this one before, but they were made in Japan and much better constructed. The material for this one is thinner and the joints were particularly flimsy. Doesn’t look like it’s going to last too long. A bit disappointed really.

The clip part broke (off) after a year. Thinking about buying others or could be a year is the average products life?

I had stopped putting bananas in my daughter's lunch box because by the time she would go to eat it at lunch time it would be mostly banana mush - apparently 2nd graders are pretty rough on their lunch boxes. This is a great solution for the most part, although not always a perfect solution. Obviously no two bananas are exactly the same, and this case is quite large so if you're trying to fit a smaller or more curved banana in the case it doesn't work well if at all. It really all depends on the size/shape of the bananas you buy, as to how well they will fit in the case. Assuming they do fit - the case works really well at keeping them snug and safe until ready for consumption. The other potential issue I anticipate is eventually the small plastic clasp that holds the case closed is going to break at some point, which when that does happen simply wrapping a rubber band around the container will work fine for keeping it closed. Overall we like it and for the most part it works well - my 8 year old likes it and calls it her 'banana phone.'

There’s an opening at the top for the stem of the banana, the case is easy to open, and the size and shape are just right. I find this one better than the other ones on the market.

Absolutely an essential if you want to bring a banana on the go and don't want it badly bruised by snacktime. Its large size and open stem end make it vastly superior to other banana savers, which essentially require a very specific size and shape. The closure uses a living hinge, an unwise decision for an otherwise fantastic product, as these tend to wear out and break relatively quickly. However, I've had one of these for many years and it has shown no sign of breaking yet, so this may be a non-issue.
