Our cats love it.
This was bought as a 12th birthday present for our two Korats. Although mature in years, they still have lots of energy and a mischief and one in particular will shout at me and wake me up in the early hours if he doesn't get a game with his favourite toy (Da Bird) in the evening. Having previously bought them a motorised toy involving mice and a cover, we were a little concerned as they destroyed this by holding down the mice and burning out the motor. The Ambush toy has been a great hit and has lasted so far despite some fairly robust treatment. The cats have tried to carry the toy away and do quite frequently tip it over onto its back. They ask for the toy several times a day and will stalk it and then try to catch the feathers. It keeps them occupied for hours and the only limitation is the batteries. Rechargeables are definitely recommended. It has been used every day for the last month. The toy is quite noisy with a mechanical sound but I haven't found it to be intrusive and they have not been bothered by it. They are not nervous cats however (they are happy to watch fireworks) and a more nervous cat might find the sounds offputting.I highly recommend this toy and am very happy with it.

Very engaging. Little noisy
Cats really enjoy this product. Little bit noisy. Wish they had made the on/off button slightly more sensitive as the cats would be alblebto switch it on themselves.

My cat is OBSESSED
The media could not be loaded. My cat loves to play, but I don't always have the time to play with her as much as she would like so I was keen to find a toy that she could play with on her own. Other videos of the Ambush Interactive looked fun so I thought we'd try it out.As other reviews have mentioned, it is pretty loud and does make a a scraping mechanical sound. When I first turned it on, she was pretty afraid as she's very timid. It took about three days of me intermittently turning it on and her simply observing from afar before she would play with it. Now, the Ambush Interactive controls my life. When it isn't on, she sits beside it and screams. At night, she screams until I turn it on. She sits on it. She tries to get under it. She loves this toy more than she loves me, her food, or watching birds. It can amuse her for hours, she'd play with it constantly. A fabulous toy that will provide endless entertainment for your cat!

Good quality toy that all cats love
I am a cat sitter and have given this toy to several cats and they all love it. A couple took a few goes to just observe it, possibly intimidated by the slight noise, but soon got stuck right in. Whilst the unit itself is great build quality and looks good, I have taken a star away for durability as the feathers themselves are quite delicate which is understandable, but are then quite expensive to replace, especially if you have a destructive cat who will do it often. I like that it pauses sporadically which keeps the cats intrigued, and that it will automatically turn off after a short time. Fairly expensive toy but worth it in my opinion.

Rather loud but seems well put together, my cats don't seem to like it.
The product arrives nicely packaged, it included the required batteries, a spare feather head and a manual, according to the manual contents there should be a small fixing screw for the battery compartment, which isn't included in my box.The toy is well made, mostly made of an ABS plastic, which while creates a strong box, feels like it would crack or shatter when dropped on a hard surface or stepped on.The top of the unit has a single rubber button which is nice to the touch and easy to operate. The main top panel is a translucent plastic that illuminates with 4 LEDs, which change colour based on mode. When turning on or off, there is an audible beep for confirmation. The underside of the unit has 4 glued on rubber feet, a battery door and a cable retainer, should you want to power the device with an external power supply, opposed to the 4 AA batteries. The toy is extremely easy to use, press the single button on top and it starts up. press it twice and it enters a service mode, should the head need replacing, the arm moves forward to allow this. A single press when on will turn it off.The toy has 6 holes around the outside, when on it pokes the feather out of one of the holes with varying patterns and speeds, sometimes once or twice, sometimes holding it out of the hole for a period for the cat to play with.Overall I think its a great unit. I paid £25 for it, and while its a good toy, it feels like quite a lot for such a loud device. The LEDs on top don't really add anything, and the ones on my unit flicker when the motor moves, due to the current draw being rather high.My cats don't like it, but they usually love playing games of this nature. When on it's top, obscuring a lot of the lights, and with a yoga foam block on top and under a blanket, it has improved interest somewhat, but it still isn't as good as a piece of string :DI don't regret buying it, but if it breaks, I will not be buying another and I would not recommend it to friends, unless on sale.

Waste of money
The build quality and look of this unit are quite good. But I’m afraid it’s just style over substance. The Bengal kitten who plays with everything from feathers to balls to scraps of paper and cellophane doesn’t really like it. She sits there watching it for a few minutes. Every now and then she’ll tentatively reach for the feather but she certainly isn’t going mad for it like other people’s cats have done.My other two cats just look at it with vague indifference and the dog goes for it if she thinks one of the cats is about to, but invariably they don’t so she just watches them watching it.The sound of it is a bit monotonous which I could overlook if it attracted more excitement but it just spends most of its waking hours pathetically trying to grab passing interest like a Jehovahs Witness pamphlet stall at the entrance to Alton Towers. If you like loud machinery in your relaxing space that takes ten minutes to realize nobody’s interested, then this is the cat toy for you.

Kitten not interested.
Very slow , even on fast speed , kitten lost interest very quickly waiting for the feather to pop out. Lost interest when he realised he can’t catch the prey .

Cats Love These Things
I’ve owned a few of these now and every cat I’ve ever presented it to has gone bonkers over it. My last cat went through two. She was a destructive little monkey, but actually a pretty big cat. She could actually grab the feather in her mouth and pick the whole unit up in her mouth and carry it or flick her neck and throw it. She was tough on these, but she really liked beating them up. The cat I have now enjoys sitting and staring at it and occasionally swatting at it. She lets me know she wants to play with it by going and sitting next to it and looking from me to it until I go turn it on. They’re pretty sturdy unless your cat throws them, even then, the case, etc holds up fine. It’s the feathers that take a beating. It comes with one extra feather in the box, but I’d recommend getting the package of spares, too. The batteries last a really long time, even with regular play. It’s a little noisy, but the cats seem to get used to that quickly. It’s a really great toy.

Gatito entretenido
The media could not be loaded.

Great product, cat loves it!
The media could not be loaded. Had this product for a couple of weeks now and I can’t praise it enough! My cat LOVES it, as soon as she hears it being turned on she will come running. And when it turns off she will sit there and meow for it to be turned back on.Personally I do not find it loud at all like other people say, it has mechanical sounds but that’s to be expected since it is a machine. But it’s not unbearably loud, the kettle boiling is louder. Other cat toys such as the cats meow is a lot louder. My cats a skittish cat and she don’t care for the small noises it makes. The only complaint I have is the auto shut off is only 8 minutes which is usually not long enough for my cat, and I have to go turn it on for another 2-3 times before she’s done playing.Overall a wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone with a hyper and playful cat! Very, very pleased with this purchase. And I will be posting a video once I can manage to get one
