Needless to say, that turned my Macbook into a typewriter. Online, I found solutions like clear History, delete Temp files, etc., but nothing really helped. Then I found an article that suggested downgrading to Mojhave (it is a 3-4 hour process if you create a backup and you can find tutorial videos online). Post the downgrade, I saw a small improvement in response times, but there was still some lag in multitasking. That's when I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my RAM.The key solution:These RAMs (2x8GB = 16GB) are expensive, but really worth it. You will find cheaper Windows' RAMs online, but they may/ may not work and you may end up spending more, if it crashes any other circuit/ part - avoid this as the risk is too high.Installing the RAM:You will need a Pentalobe-head screwdriver of size 1.5mm (cost me Rs.175 for a locally made set from a hardware shop). You can watch any of the Macbook Pro RAM installation videos online and the whole process takes about 5-7 minutes from start to end.Note: The 3 screws near the fan are of a different length compared to the screws on the side. Remember to keep these separate to avoid confusion later.Feedback:It has been a day since I installed the RAMs and everything has been magic so far.
