Review: Perfect Fit - So, my toilet tank was leaking into the bowl - so fast in fact that you could watch the water level go down after it filled. I first tried replacing the flush valve cannister seal but it didn't stop the leak. Next step was to replace the whole flush valve. This kit contains everything you need - the flush valve with a cannister seal already on , the red gasket that seals the bottom of the tank already on, and the big tank to bowl gasket. You don't need anything else. The included directions are good - they cover removing the tank and flush valve and installing the new one. There are some good YouTube videos out there as well. The hardest part was removing the large nut that connects the flush valve to the tank. When I first tried it with an oil filter wrench around the nut and slip joint pliers around the shaft, I couldn't budge it. So I sprayed some WD-40 between the nut and the shaft and let it soak in awhile. That did the trick and I was able to remove the nut. The rest was easy - just take it slow. While I had the toilet disassembled I replaced the fill valve as well. The toilet now works perfectly - no leaks. This kit is a great buy and fits great - much better than calling a plumber. I'm happy.

**Q: What is the procedure to change canister seal**
A: canister won;t stay up

**Q: Will this canister valve fit a class 5 toilet?**
A: Yes, but only a Kohler Class 5. If the toilet fills briefly and then stops, only to fill briefly again, you need not replace the canister. Instead replace only the red rubber gasket around the base of the canister. It's easier and faster to replace than the old style flapper valves and online store like PlumberSurplus.com sells them for $5.18 plus free shipping the last time I looked. **Q: Will this fit the Kohler Cimarron 1.28 gal per flush tank? The part no. on my tank is K4421-OA (or -DA?)?  Thanks.**
A: ** I am not a plumber ** I had the same failure Izzy describes on my K-4421-CA tank, and same as Izzy, I only had to replace the black cylinder that moves up when you flush the handle and the very top connection piece with the white gasket underneath.  I also replaced the white brittle hose, and to make the black hose fit better I cut about an inch off.  So, if that is the only thing wrong, it will work.  HOWEVER, as a general answer, I'd say no, this will not replace the whole assembly.  My K-4421-CA had a 2" hole on the bottom, same as Izzy's video, and this is a 3" model.  The cylinder that moves up and down is also roughly 1.5" shorter (as Izzy points out), which I believe leads to less water in the bowl and less water per flush.

**Q: Will this fit the K4634 toilet, the Cimarron ?**
A: no thi canister will not fit your k-4634. how ever you can order a 1083980 canister or a 102438 flush valve

The house we bought a few years ago had a Kohler toilet in it. Ive never worked on a Kohler toilet before so when the flush valve seal began to leak and I was just wasting water and filling my septic tank with water, I did what every one else would do and went and bought a new flush valve. Took out broken part with 1/4 turn. Inserted new part, 1/4 turn to replace old part.
