Worked great in my 30 year old GE refrigerator. Fixed the stuck off defrost cycle. Sensor surface is flat/planar. Would have preferred it to be concave to mate with the defrost coil better.

Fixed the Ice Build-Up issue in the Freezer
The reason for 4-stars and not 5 is the fact that the mounting bracket is not an exact fit. This fixed the ice build-up issue in my freezer. Here are the steps for trouble-shooting. 1. Check the defrost timer. Mine has a small post that I can access and turn with a screw driver. Also, my unit is rate 10-hours on and 30-minutes off. Turn the timer clockwise until the fans turn off and wait about 10 minutes, if you can hear water sizzling on the heating coil, then you may have bad gaskets/seals on the doors. 2. If you did not hear the water sizzle on the heating element in the freezer as the ice melted, then disconnect the fridge, defrost, remove the back panel so you can access the heating element. Remove the heating element. Use a volt-meter and measure the resistance of the heating element. It should be in the 10-ohms to sub 1-ohm range. If the heating element resistance is high (open circuit), then your heating element is bad. If the heating element is good, go to the next step. 3. Remove the defrost thermostat and connect the two wires together (this will mimic a closed thermostat circuit). Plug the unit in. (Caution!!! The electronic contol and wiring is at 120VAC). Observe the heating element, if it is glowing, replace your thermostat and you should be good to go.

it works. the clips that were sent with it are really cheap and loose. It is a universal part that you have to adjust the clips in order to hold tight.

Mounting brackets were loose fitting but it fixed the issue of evaporator fan not turning on my kenmore. If it meets your specs then buy this for your fridge.
