Pifco Portable Halogen Heater with 3 Heat Settings, Safety Cut Off Switch, 70 Degree Oscillation, Lightweight, 1200 W, White

I have bought many of these halogen heaters over the years. They work well as instant directional heat and, as they are relatively cheap, I do not mind that they tend to be flimsy and short-lived. This fire seems similar to its predecessors but appears to be slightly more robust - only time will tell - although also a little pricier. I also prefer the white finish to the grey/blacks of most of its competitors.So far, I am pleased with the purchase and am happy to recommend this model to others.

I bought one these around 10 years ago, used it in the shed for years. Since stripped it down to make a heat source for a home made vacuum forming machine. Thought I'd replace it with a new one. Same method of construction, you can get cheaper heaters but this is reliable enough for me. Some posters have received with broken lamps, which could be possible if the box is chucked about. Spare bulbs are easy to fit if you have at least the knowledge to fit a plug on a lead. Better than a fan heater which tend to be noisy, three heat settings, good piece of kit.

Good heat output. Seems efficient when looking at smart meter. Used mainly to warm up a cold kitchen. Unfortunately the top bulb stopped working after 5 days and so I am having to arrange a return.

This is a good little heater, you can use it with just one heat setting, so it doesn't get to hot. The second heat setting is good for cold days. It's silent in operation and oscillates, which spreads the warmth about. Simple to use and looks good. Easy to unpack and put base together. Very pleased.

Good little Hester especially when it’s cold

Good output for a quick warm up. Looks nice and plain and metal casing a nostalgic plus. HOWEVER, a couple of probs with the one I got. It wobbled alarmingly if touched, worse if using the rotate feature (unnecessary gimmick). Problem was that the two screws that you put up through the base into the plate on the bottom of the heater were too long so they forced up the plastic plate on top of the plate which then fouled on bottom of heater rendering it unstable and causing it to jam on rotating. Either a design fault or wrong screws supplies (instructions said butterfly bolts - these were not - rather like screws to put an old-style telly on a stand). Also seemed (mis-)used. Signs that casing had been opened clumsily, and screws on back jammed in. Pity, as it was basically a good heater but mine was dodgy and dangerous so I returned and got a trashy one from a shop. If it was already a return I hope it is fixed before anyone else gets it!

This is an excellent, lightweight, yet sturdy, heater which oscillates from side to side if needed. it heats a small room up quickly with no fuss. the base is self-assembly, but easy to do. I would certainly recommend this heater to anyone who needs a floor heater that does not take up too much space. Halogen makes it a safer option for the elderly who need an every-day space heater. I would recommend this product.

I am very happy with this heater. It's perfect for use under my desk at home and with the 3 different heat settings you can set it to the heat you output you require. I like that it has a turn function too. Definitely recommend recommend this.

So far so good. No complains. It serves the purpose as required. Just a note: for those buying this product outside of the UK ... the plug is a UK plug so you'll need a power socket adapter.
