This is just what it says it is. It is replacing one just like it that lasted 14 years here in Constantwindville, NY. After 14 years of abuse a rather nasty thunderstorm with 70 mph gusts broke the old one, which was aluminum. Oh well. If this one lasts 14 years, I'll be happy indeed. It is mounted in cement of course. I can't say if I would buy another yet - but it HAS weathered a couple bad storms (very high wind) so far and is nice and straight still. I'd say it's a good buy.

Flag pole is a great value. Had very severe weather with measured wind gusts of 40 plus mph for well over an hour and the pole made it through while flying the colors. Would have taken pole down if I knew weather was going to be so bad. Now glad to know I don't have to everytime we have gusty winds like I did my last pole. Mounted solar light to top to take place of flood light and it looks great at night.

The flag pole itself is great. Do yourself a favor and buy a different flag though. Ours is shredded at the ends after only 2 months of being flown.

I ordered this flag pole based off the stars rated and reviews. I understand that at $80 you're not getting a pole that can withstand a cat 5 hurricane, but a breeze I expected it to do better. I gave it two stars because I would like to believe this could be a great flag pole. First off, when the box arrived it was clearly not handled well by the post service. So I wouldn't put everything on the manufacturer's for some of the damaged pieces. The poles once removed from the box looked as if the warehouse used them to joust with before not so gently placing them in the box. Half the poles had golf ball sized dents on them. It comes with something made of plastic inside the box, I only know this because there was plenty of broken plastic pieces and black plastic powder. Whatever this was, looked like it was not packaged by a person, but by a wood chipper. The coating on the flag pole was chipped and had spots that were already starting to rust. The ball that you're supposed to place on top of the flag pole was bent and damage, but with skill was able to sorta get it back to its shape. The truck and rope for this did arrive in great shape and work really well. So it wasn't a total loss. When putting the poles together they do not fit well together, the poles are very loose fitting, so each one of them bend in its own direction, which makes the flag pole look odd. I used a slightly larger two foot pipe and cemented it into the ground, level and plumb. But once the pole is in the hole, because of how loose the tubings are, it looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. If this wasn't something that was absolutely needed when I needed it, I would have found a new box, and returned it. I am although looking to replace this flag pole, only after one week of it being erected. The flag that comes with it, is made polyester and cotton, claims it is made in the US. which is another plus for this.

The flagpole arrived in perfect condition. The rope cleat is already installed for you. I followed the excellent instructions, and set up the flagpole. The white flagpole looks great. It was easy to run the cord, and set up the flag. This was a great kit for me, a first time flagpole installer. I would buy this item again.

Seams on flag started unraveling on the third day. Otherwise it's great.

This flagpole replaces a more expensive one that broke in the wind. This one is actually sturdier, and has held up through tons of Las Vegas winds, and it's just as strong as the day we put it up. (We have gone through a LOT of flags, though.)
