Shibaji Bandopadhyay has weaved a masterpiece with his narrative
The Mahabharata is a colossal tale and the most difficult part being its intertwining storyline and episodes. Though the story has been adapted in several forms, fitting it into the structure of a graphic novel is a demanding and daunting task. Vyasa however tackles this differently. It tries to tell the narrative in a different way. The illustrations take it to another level. Grappling with this unwieldy structure of epic, it never loses its way. The reader is gripped to their attention. Every reading of the Mahabharata makes us look for newer interpretations. Vyasa ends with a beginning of the next book. Its a must read for all lovers of graphic fiction, mythology and how myths have reintegrated themselves in our popular culture.
