Is it affected by cold

Ours is at the front door of our business in Winder, Georgia. We have some pretty cold days and nights. I could honestly say it never has been affected by cold with us.

This can be adjusted. Clothing will typically not set it off in a deposit chute because the large surface area spreads the pressure. To reduce activation from heavily filled plastic bag, cushion the mat with a layer of soft material. Conversely, to increase sensitivity, place a small hard object with corner (such as a 2x4 lumber) under the mat. Note that the alarm only stays on for 30 seconds even if the mat is kept pressurized. The alarm is activated for 30 seconds upon state change only -- ie: when pressure is applied or removed. If the state does not change, the alarm stops after 30 seconds.
