As I've gotten older, I've come to realize how important it is to wear sunscreen on my face on a daily basis. I need to protect my skin from UVA/UVB rays that age my skin over time. I originally purchased sunscreen at my local store that was intended for the face. However, it was a chemical sunscreen, which comes with health concerns. Not only that, but it left my skin looking shiny and often made my eyes sting at some point in the day. I've since learned that a mineral sunscreen is a healthier option. This sunscreen absorbs into my skin well and doesn't look shiny. I haven't had any issues with it stinging my eyes on days when it's hot and humid outside. The SPF 50 has been effective for me. I appreciate that this Acne Commander sunscreen is non-comedogenic and formulated to avoid breakouts, since that is a concern for me. Ive had a different mineral sunscreenclog my pores and cause breakouts. The sunscreen is lightly tinted, which works well for my light skin tone. Those with darker skin won't be pleased with this tinted version. Opt instead for the untinted version. Mineral sunscreens can sometimes leave a white cast, but I didn't notice it on my skin. I love that it has a clean formula with no fragrance, oils, silicone, sulphate, parabens, or colorants. The current price of $27.99 for 1.8 ounces is a bit steep compared to typical facial sunscreen products at my local store. However, it is a much healthier choice with a clean formula, which gives it a lot of value, in my opinion.

Description and ingredients listed are not accurate. I was excited to try this as I have very acne prone, sensitive skin and not sure why I trusted a random TikTok brand… but this sunscreen is terrible. It has a horribly strong fragrance despite being listed as fragrance free and it’s very greasy. The ingredient list is incomplete as there’s no way it doesn’t have preservatives, etc. I even reached out to the company and they responded as first but when I sent them a photo of the sunscreen and said I know the ingredient list is misleading, they never responded.

This is not fungal acne safe unfortunately.

I really like how this tinted sunscreen feels on my skin. I originally thought this product would suit my teen daughter, however I have enjoyed using it myself. I live in Queensland Australia, so it is important for me to wear sunscreen everyday. However my sensitive skin often reacts to sunscreen, becoming red and itchy. This sunscreen left my skin feeling lovely! Sunscreen often feels greasey, whereas this one gave a nice matte finish.

Overall, this spf 50 tinted sunscreen is a good buy. My cons are few, so I will start there. The main reason I haven't been using this often is because my face looks very shiny with it on and I prefer a matte look. I can tame the glow for a bit by applying powder, but I wouldn't dream of reapplying it every two hours. So I only use this when I know I will be out for shorter times. The second issue I have is that with even one coat, it feels like I have to work hard to get it off before I go to bed. Otherwise, I do recommend this product for anyone who likes a glowy look. It did not aggregate my skin and provided a little coverage, mainly evening out areas of red skin tone. I do believe this provides UV coverage. There is no milky color (just as advertised) like you find with some other mineral sunscreens. I also like that it is a mineral sunscreen.
