Exceeded my expectations
I purchased this unit because my quad was too long to fit into the bed of my truck with the tailgate closed. I have used it several times, and I am very pleased with it; money well spent. The unit itself is very heavy duty. It is crafted of high grade steel. The hardware is also very high grade. The cotter pins look to be grade 8 titanium coated. I love how you can keep the unit in the truck's receiver, and remove just one cotter pin to take off half of the assembly. Thus allowing you to unload the quad (or tractor) while the heaviest portion of the assembly is still in the receiver.I have probably driven about 1000 miles with this on my truck with a quad, and have had no worries whatsoever that it would come loose. I do not use a single strap anymore. It actually leaves me enough room in the front of the quad to put my gas can and a small cooler. Excellent product, one of the handiest tools I have purchased.

My atv isn’t going anywhere!
Easy to use, easy to assemble! A bit heavy, but feels really sturdy. I’ve seen a few reviews about bolts stripping, but after 6 trips with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 I’ve yet to have any issues and would recommend this for easy, strapless, and safe transportation.

Fast installation
This is great for securing your ATV in the bed of your truck. I suggest leaving about two to three inches between the tailgate and the piping. There is a little play so if you get the piping too close to the tailgate it may rub on the tailgate going down rough roads.

Kolpin Guard Dog Atv Tie Down-
I purchased this tie down as a quick way to secure my ATV in the 6.5’ bed of my F150 with a tool box. Previous challenges dealing with straps and the close quarters, I wanted something easier that was setup without having to worry about tie down points on the ATV and getting under the tool box for the anchor points in the bed. With this tie down, once set up, it appears to meet my needs. I am a fan of over securing equipment in an open truck bed so, for long hauls or 4x4 I would recommend additional ratchet straps for security in the event this primary tie down fails.Care should be taken to ensure you have proper clearance from the vertical bar to the lowered tail gate and to where the front of the ATV will stop in the bed. Meaning, once hooked up to this tie down, you may have about an inch or so roll. Once installed, I took it out for a test drive and it appeared to hold quite well. Again, the ATV moved slightly back and forth due to the slop in the hitch and receiver.I like the additional receiver at the end to add another accoutrement (rack holder as example) but question the integrity of its towing capacity as it is an extension, and there are only four bolts that keep it in place by tightening around the horizontal bar. I think over time with constant stress or towing the bolts may slide or loosen. This concern could be addressed if, ft/lbs and torque recommendations were included and the horizontal bar came with slots or groves so the bolts would catch. Bottom line: I can hit the easy button after loading the ATV with this tie down and it will work great. Towing with it w/o modifications, not so much.

Wonderful
Works great, love that I can still use a trailer, my father has actually borrowed just the lower part to use as a riser for towing a higher trailer.it seems like this is all you would need to keep the atv in the truck through anything, but I still use straps in the front because it seems too easy and I'm a little paranoid.

It works well with my size truck and ATV
My CForce 400 sits in the crack between the bed and gate. This device works really well for my size truck and atv. I wanted something a bit more sturdy than straps, as I've avoided transporting the ATV when it's in park and always leave it in neutral. (I know that most people put do this anyway)So for me, it works really well, and is super easy to set up.

Super easy, super fast...
I absolutely love this. I can have my quad locked down in 30 seconds versus 15 minutes with ratchet straps and no space to move. I have total peace of mind with this unlike ratchet straps. I was worried about the weight on the tailgate but the rear tires actually sit in the gap between the tailgate and the bed so the weight is distributed pretty good. The LA Guard Dog is way more expensive, especially with the exchange rate and shipping. I think LA Guard Dog is pretty pathetic that they openly question the reliability of this product on their website because it wasn't made in the good ol' US of A. Have you you seen the garbage that comes out of the US? I will add a pic the next time I load up the quad. I agree with other reviews that having a space between the front of the quad and the front of the bed is great for throwing in boxes or coolers. I wish I hadn't spent $2k on a trailer when I first bought the quad.
