Good Grips Melon Baller

This is well made, with nice sharp cutting edges and a comfortable easy to grip handle.

I grow a lot of zucchini and yellow squash in my basement, and now and then I harvest large ones that are great for stuffing. This larger end of this melon baller works so much easier for hollowing out the squash rather than the spoon I used to use. Since the piece between the two scoops is rubberized, it's easy to hold and doesn't get slippery from the juices of the fruit or vegetable you are scooping. I don't see this melon baller being helpful in removing seeds from peppers or tomatoes, as membrane of peppers should also be removed, and the smallest scoop is to large to remove seeds from tomatoes. It may be useful for tomatoes if you want to hollow out the whole tomato including seeds. This tool is very useful for removing seeds and the stringy pulp of winter squash and also for removing seeds from fruits such as papaya, cantaloupe, and similar fruits. If you are looking for a tool that will create perfectly round melon balls, I don't believe this tool would work. The part of the melon that is in the bottom of the scoop will be round, but but the top of the portion scooped most likely will not be round. My purposes for this melon baller are to hollow out large zucchinis and yellow squash for stuffing, and to remove seeds and stringy pulp from the winter squash, such as acorn squash, spaghetti squash, etc. and fruits like papaya. For these purposes, this tool is perfect and makes these jobs so much easier. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Sturdy and good grip

Love this kitchen tool and use mostly for trimming strawberries and your enhanced torque strength perfect for puncturing potatoes before microwaving. Highly recommend.

Works great to de-worm apples as well. I feel like it can probably stand up to maybe like 5000 apples or more.

Usefull product in kitchen.

This is a lot sturdier than my previous melon baller which snapped mid-balling. It is very comfortable to use, effortless balls, and doesn't feel like it will be snapping any time soon. The only downside would be that it is a bit pricey.
