The quality of life straw products is incredible!I used one bottle (before I lost it) hiking 3-7 days a week for a whole year. It kept up with me through some pretty rugged terrain. I have dropped this bottle off of 15 ft rocky cliffs, full of water and it did not even crack.My daughter and I challenged ourselves the first year of owning a Lifestraw to drink from every natural body of water we came across. We have drank from springs, rivers, creeks, ponds, lakes, reservoirs, I was even brave enough to test it on creek water that ran through a cow pasture (don't judge, it was the only water for 5 miles) I never got sick from any of the water I drank through this straw. Now either I have a killer immune system or this thing really works. I haven't even mentioned flavor.Okay, so here is my opinion on flavor...So I would not intentionally drink pond water if I had other options. There is a very slight taste that resembles what I imagine the original water to taste like but all in all if I was not dying of thirst and just needed to wet my whistle even I would still drink pond water.I give quality of filtration a 100%I give quality of filtering out bad taste a 95%Durability 100%Great product and we have not even gotten to the good cause! This bottle is great for hiking, but I bought it to take on plane trips. Lightweight. I bought the one that supplies money for one child for a year of clean water. Great cause and an easy way to give. Bottle has a strap that turns and a carabiner clip.

It was a little slow on the draw, but great otherwise.

Best Gift ever! My daughter's Fiance' liked it a lot! He said he would definitely use it when out in the wilderness.

cutting down on plastic waste while also not needing much else on a day hike

We bought this for our daughter. She is traveling in South America and has reported to us that when the bottle is not perfectly upright it leaks. She has had many of her clothes get soaked. What should we do? This makes it difficult because she now has to buy another bottle.

I purchased this bottle so I can stop buying bottled water and figured would use it for everyday drinking. Nice bottle, but water taste like plastic, not sure why just definitely has an aftertaste. It is probably fine for emergencies but just does not work for everyday drinking needs. Disappointed, as it was advertised that would make water taster better.

i really thought this product was doing great. I purchased it for my trip to south america and then ised it slightly when i got back home. I purchased this on dec 11th it will be 11 weeks tomorrow. I would say that it was working fine as i was able to drink tap/well water on my trip and never felt ill. However i started to notice this dark discoloration two weeks ago and stiooed using it. i tried to clean it out but there is no way to get to it. This had a very short lifespan and seems now like a waste of money.might i add that this black just started showing up whike j have been using my home water. I uave a full house filtration system and an aditional filtration system in my fridge. i feel like the black is mold growing?
