Mayne Newport Plus Mailbox Post with Standard Arm – Weather-Resistant, Durable Classic Design – Easy-to-Install Outdoor Mailbox Post

Great mailbox post! It looks like real wood. It has held up well for a few years now in our tough 4-season climate. I clean it once or twice a year to keep it crisp and white, and it cleans easily. I planted hardy red hibiscus flowers next to it for a real show-stopper!

It’s made out of a very thick plastic I assume is some kind of vinyl. It is a plastic sleeve that fits over a 4x4 wooden post. The arm also fits over a wooden insert. The wooden posts and wooden arm insert is not included. You have to go to your home store or lumber supply to buy the wooden posts. Your wooden treated 4x4 is held into the ground by a metal fence post stake that you drive into the ground. The fence post stake is also not included and you will have to buy elsewhere. You buy a little bag of quick set concrete, mix it and pour in down into the ground around the post holder. Let it set overnight or minimum 4hours but follow the instructions for whatever concrete you buy. Then you put the plastic sleeve over the wooden post and use lag bolts to attach for added security at the back of the arm underneath. Then you set your mailbox on the arm using a metal support plate which you also buy extra. I had to bend the edges of my metal support flat before attaching it to the arm due to the mailbox I chose (also sold by Amazon) being so wide. This hollow plastic post (I call it a sleeve) is good looking and functional when installed correctly. I recommend.

I’ve always had just a wooden post for my mailbox, but figured I’d try to spice it up a bit. This Mayne mailbox post is pretty decent for the price. Although it’s plastic, it seems sturdy enough and I really like the style of it. It fit over my wooden post perfectly and was easy to assemble. Only minor issue is that the arm isn’t very securely attached to the post with the amount of screws they give you, so we added a few more and that did the trick.

I couldn’t be happier with this mailbox post! The installation was surprisingly simple and only took a short time. The install was basically to post hole dig the hole, set a pressure treated post in cement, cut the post to length and then slip the post on and mount the box holder What really impressed me is how high-end it looks once in place—the design is clean, sturdy, and instantly upgraded the curb appeal. The materials feel strong and durable, and it has the look of a custom piece without the hefty price tag or hours of labor in the shop. I’ve already had neighbors ask where it’s from. Highly recommend if you want something easy to set up but with a premium look!

Expensive disappointment This mailbox post looks very nice but it wobbles horribly. I can’t open my mailbox without one hand stabilizing the mailbox. No instructions were included. I called customer service and they seemed helpful and thought I was possibly missing a part or two. They asked me to text a video of the post to see if they assess what was wrong. I texted the video- no response. I then called back and they said they never received a video so I emailed them the video asking for guidance. Still no response. So, no directions, possible missing parts and lacking customer service. I wish I could buy a different brand and install that but I’m out the $200 this cost me plus the install.

I just want to say this company’s customer service is amazing. I bought the post kit and the install was pretty easy. Mailbox and post looked great. Sadly, somebody hit it with their car and took everyone out but the post (was a hit and run, must had hit it with side mirror). I was able to salvage the post but I contacted the company to see if I could order the piece that connect to the post and mailbox. They were super quick to respond and sent me the new piece free of charge (no shipping charges either) with no questions asked! That is a rarity these days. Great company!

Absolutely love our new mailbox post. It is so pretty and matches how we remodeled our home. What it replaced was falling down and ugly. We did use a rural mailbox but our son-in-law re-enforced it and is very sturdy. We get good gusts of winds here so we went a bit deeper with the wooden 4x4 and more cement and river rock in the ground portion. A herd of rhino’s couldn’t take it down🤣. Just as we were deciding what height the mailbox should be our mail lady was arriving, she pulled up with her car and showed us and she was happy about that. I’m just so tickled that it came out so nice.

I purchased this item in hopes that I would put it over a wooden post and then buy the actual mailbox separately. The actual post and arm are actually nice and they do in fact fit over a 4x4 wood post. This is where the issue begins, I needed to buy my own Mailbox (Not a problem). There are NO recommendations for a compatible mailbox. The arm on this post shows a slight divot towards the back, where my mailbox would sit. This is NOT true for this model. We contacted the company . This was the ridiculous answer they provided. Good Morning, In you video (picture attached) there is a gap on the mailbox arm to accommodate a mailbox with a recessed bottom (picture attached). The Arm that came with our order doesn't have this gap (picture attached). I also do not see an Arm on the website that looks like the one in the video. Do you have one that isn't listed? We cant attach the mailbox to the Arm. The reply::::Good morning, You have a different support arm than what is pictured in the video. There is no gap on this one! Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you I then called them and they told me to go to a hardware store or call the mailbox company. Absolutely No-one at this company had a clue!!! I am still attempting to find a compatible box for this, hopefully the one I ordered will fit. Nice looking post but Buyer beware of compatible mailbox to the arm which SHOULD have and is said to have a space at the back.

Well, this is all I've recever and was supposed to be my second full height mailbox stand. The first one was the same price at $120+ CDN, is perfect, great quality and wow. This second one is about one third of the parts of the first one for the similar price of $120 CDN. This one was delivered 2 days ago and is quite oncomplete, hence useless so being returned as incomplete. I truly wonder who would send this one part only. UPS has confirmed that no other parts have been shipped.

Awesome, pop it over a 4x4 pressure treated piece of wood looks awesome with our over sized rural mailbox. Quick delivery. Way better pricing then in local hardware stores.

Third time ordering, never got a complete set. What a shame!
