Polar Trailer8260 Coupler Kit (2" Ball)

Put a cheap Harbor Freight hitch on it. It was a huge pain. Finally coughed up the money for a genuine hitch and presto... it works perfectly.

So much better and easier than the standard pin attachment for my ATV trailer. Works very well!

If you have a polar trailer buy it. It bolts on in less than 5 minutes. Only negative is that the 2" ball does not pivot to the rear. You must grind the ball on the shaft where it does not allow it to move to the rear. I used a grinder, being careful not to touch the ball. Then I buffed out the scratches.I think if you have movement similar to when the ball when it swing towards the front then that should be good. It also fits the 1 7/8" ball but a little sloppy, so I don't think this is wise unless it was a one time use. This is for light loads anyway, so grinding the shaft a little won't effect this if you are towing 500 lb. on a lawn tractor ( has a small tow rating anyway!) Far superior than a pin and a hole that comes with the Polar trailer.

After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant to buy this however I took a chance and went with the positive reviews instead and am glad I did. Just took seconds to install using my portable impact driver and is very sturdy and solid. After using it I went to remove it from the hitch and that is where the reviews got negative. I soon realized that if there is pressure on the hitch such as being parked where the hitch is stressed, it makes it much harder to remove so I put my ATV in neutral and took off the stress and it can off easily, very nice and I'm sure it will just get easier as it gets broken it. Great product and now I don't have to hear the rattling of the previous hitch pin while using my cart.

Fits Perfect on the Polar Trailer Tongue Comes With Required Bolts

This coupler will work with a 2 inch ball. At first I couldn't get it to latch on the ball. Luckily another reviewer had posted that you may have to back off a turn on the nut on the bottom side of the coupler to allow it to fully clamp down. I loosened the nut 3/4 turn and it did the trick. There's still plenty of thread showing on the bolt after make the adjustment.

Durable, easy to install works great.

Perfect fit for my Polar HD 1400 trailer, but no reason for it to be at such a high price.
