There was sufficient starter tea and the scoby was indeed healthy and good sized. Review: Great - Don't know why scoby is so expensive but this was good. I brewred about 2.5 litres and got 2 more healthy scoby. It was my first tine brewing so I'm thrilled. It comes with starter tea. **Q: Does this scoby come in a glass jar?** A: It has been a while since I bought this. But, I remember it came in a polythene pack. But, I can confirm that it was alive and I was able to brew multiple batches of Kombucha with it. **Q: I have received the Kombucha with no instructions about brewing and set up, how to brew?** A: Boil 4 cups of drinking water. Add 1 cup of white sugar and dissolve completely. Add to it, 8-10 regular tea bags or 1/4th cup of tea leaves. Let it steep for a few minutes. Strain into a gallon jar. Add twelve more cups of cold water. Wait until it has thoroughly cooled. Add the scoby and whatever liquid it has come in. Put a cloth on top and tie with a string. Cover the bottle completely with another towel and store in a cool place away from light for at least 16 days. After that check to see if it has carbonated, and if yes, strain into bottles and keep for another four days completely covered and away from light. Refrigerate and enjoy your kombucha. Please ensure that the new scoby is preserved in one cup of the kombid in the fridge for future use. Please ensure the scoby doesn't touch any heat. It will die.
