Van Aken Protolina - Klean Klay Alternative - (Soft) 1/4 Case (6lbs)

Update: I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars. I believe my problem was do to user error and I'll leave my original review below as a cautionary tale for others. The reason for the change? I had poured two molds from the same bucket of mixed silicon, but I was so frustrated working on the first mold that I forgot I had even poured the second, so two days later when I remembered and went to remove the clay from the second mold it peeled right off. No problems whatsoever. I can only assume that the silicone which seems fully cured on the first mold actually needed a bit more time to cure. My only criticism of the clay is that it is a bit dry for my taste, but that wont stop me from using it in my studio.Original review: I'm only giving Protolina three stars because it clinged to my silicone mold material making clean up a hassle. I had to work to get it down to a thin layer which I then had to scrape off with a metal tool. The scraping produced dry-ish crumbles of clay. Every other clay I have used peels off cleanly so I was surprised to run into this kind of trouble with a clay that is supposed to be compatible with silicones for mold making. The silicone set up with no problems. Thank goodness I tested it with a smaller mold first. Unfortunately this problem makes Protolina useless for most any application I need it for.

Used this for a student in class who needs something to occupy his hands!

This clay is fabulous

i don't have a whole lot of expectations for clay, it smooths out once it has been kneaded or heated thoroughly and the white clay pigments nicely.
