One of the best Strategy RPGs around
This game is a port over of the PS3 version, with all of the DLC included, which makes it great value for money. And if you like Disgaea you need this game. This game is my second favourite Disgaea game, second only to the very first game. All the hallmarks of Disgaea are here: the humour, the multipile endings, the item world and of course the grinding. Disgaea games always give you value for money - you can beat the main story in a sensible amount of time, but to try and finish everything... yeah you will be sinking hundreds upon hundreds of hours into it.These types of games are well suited to the handhelds, as most stages take 10 minutes maximum, with the ability to save regulary. This makes it easy to pick up and play. This also helps with the afformentioned grinding as stages don't drag on too long. There is also some added strategy in this game as you can turn monster allies into weapons or use them as mounts to ride, which adds a few extra dimensions to the core gameplay. The graphics are pretty good on the Vita although there was a little slowdown one occasions in the item world. The music is really good as expected from this game and the characters are wonderful. If you like the Disgaea games, you will love this game. And if you've not played a Disgaea game before, and you like turn-based RPG's with grid based combat then this is a good game to try.

The best but the buggiest.
Fans of Disgaea will know what to expect, and it's an improvement over the PS3 version much like the last Vita instalment was. It's arguably the best in the series on every front, packed with new content. It's mostly very accessible and never leaves you unclear about what to do, even if it does look initially confusing. Postgame content is largely well signposted, but as you squeeze the final moments from the game it does progressively get more dependent on FAQs.However, Disgaea 4 Vita suffers from crashes and slowdown in a way that Disgaea 3 Vita simply never did, and that's a tremendous shame. I've never experienced a crash during the story, but once I was hitting the high floors of Item Worlds, it was definitely a problem.

To start, what you are getting here is an example of your money going far. This game includes all of the DLC packaged into one game which is in my opinion good value for money considering certain other games cheat out of DLC by still holding back some. This game is very enjoyable and funny, there's plenty to do so a player will never find themselves getting bored. My only grievance with it is more with the hardware than anything else. I have had one occasion of "slowdown" in the Item World which I guess is the Vita struggling to keep up with the game rather than a design flaw. Considering this game was originally made for the PS3 making it a game ported over to technically inferior hardware rather than the other way around this is forgivable in my opinion as it's out of the creators hands. Thankfully this slowdown was no where near as bad as it was with say Final Fantasy War of the Lions on the original PSP so you can relax.
