Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer (Book 1)

It is a brilliant story writing by Rick Riordan

Ok, so when I was reading the reviews, people were complaining that it wasn't funny and was pretty much the same as every other series Rick Riordan (the author) has written with less likable characters. This is NOT true. It is funny and, seriously, in which other book have you seen the main character as A DEAD PERSON???!!!! To be honest, when I was reading the book description, I thought it would be a book about a zombie (This is not what it's about). Anyway it's super interesting and you should read it. (Plus my name is Rishi and I'm 10 years old)

Book review Title: Magnus Chase and the sword of summer Author: Rick Riordan This book certainly has a nice ring to it. The moment I heard the words " Magnus Chase and the gods of asgard " , I knew it would be interesting. I was right. I remember the day I started reading Magnus Chase as one of the most memorable times with a book that I ever had. I wont give away the entire plot but only a short summary . The book centres around Magnus chase , the son of the god Frey. Magnus lives a normal life until he dies fighting a fire giant named Surt . He ends up in Valhalla ,the place were honourable warriors go when they die. He has to find the sword of summer before Surt finds it. If surt does , he will use it to release Fenris wolf and will doom entire unverse because it will start Ragnarok

Nice book

First thing i would love to say is...hats off to Rick Riordan. Like i was so sad when the story came to an end. This book is so good that I also bought the next 3 books. I would love to narrate the story here but it would be a spoiler. This is highly recommended for young readers and the readers who are gonna read big books. This book is so good that I am also thinking to b uy other stories of Rick Riordan, such as, Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles, etc...Must read from my side.

This is my first book by the author and also the first from this genre – mythic fantasy. I purchased a paperback of this book when someone suggested discussing this book on The Book Club. When I started reading, I was shocked out of my wits. The language didn’t seem to fit with mythology. That was until I realised that the “fantasy” part of the genre brings a whole new layer. Well, this book is best suited for teenagers. Though I plodded my way through the book (I can’t stop midway unless a book is truly horrible), I realised at the end that it is not my cup of tea. But apart from that, I can’t deny that the book has been brilliantly written.
