Works well if applied correctly, but how to do this is not explained. First issue is how to get the tape off the paper backing without the backing splitting. The trick is the tease a tape corner up and peel the tape back, but don't cut the backing, so one can later peel piece after piece off without trouble from the backing. Second issue is that the recommended thumbnail sized (12mm by 12mm) piece isn't large enough at higher speeds (I have stuff at 20,000 rpm, but had trouble even at 1700 rpm), probably because the resulting light pulse duration is too short to register. The solution is to use a longer piece of tape oriented such as to lengthen the light pulse during rotation. For instance, on a shaft, the tape would be long along the circumference, and narrow perpendicular to the rotation axis. The higher the rotational speed, the longer the tape must be. Third issue is getting the tape to stick reliably. Basically, the rotating surface must be clean and dry, so wipe the surface with solvent and dry until reasonably clean, especially of grease and oil. Sanding may be necessary if the surface is corroded. Things don't have to be shiny or pretty, but they need to be reasonably clean and dry.

The price point is somewhat high for what it is. The protective cover for the adhesive is poor. It performs as described though.
