I Immensely enjoyed reading this book! Each page is packed with information, I was able to learn so much. There is such an in-depth insight on how some of the most powerful and revered people in history believed adorning specific gems advanced and aided there rise to power.Also dives deep into the history connecting you to the past civilizations to really understand the deep connection crystals played in the timeline and age. It takes the most highlights of crystal history and gathers them in one incredible read. Athena perrakis has a way of luring you in and captivating you in the world of crystal history. In each page everything is explained so well and you don’t get lost in the information everything is really easy to follow. Also includes Steps of how to connect and use the stone for yourself along with where they are found geologically with in depth of the crystals growth etching, patterns and intrusions and there meanings. The crystals you learn about are beautifully pictured and are in large print so you can fully admire the beauty and get a great visual for what you are learning. includes chapters of the synergy 12 and interdimensional awareness, Crystals of quantum healing and crystals of the zodiac. It had a wonderful meditation at the end I really enjoyed. I read this book in a day and a half could not put it down this is a must have for in your collection!

The perfect book to share with those who wonder “Why?” We collect and buy so many crystals! Crystal Lore, Legends, & Myths explains it in a nutshell. Beautifully written and illustrated and packed full of information on the history of crystals and their healing properties. If you read this book and have no curiosity about crystals and their ability to cure and soothe the soul, then crystals are not your thing. However, if you read this book and find it answers a lot of questions regarding crystals, their importance throughout history, mythology, healing properties it will no doubt thrust you into the magical world of crystals. This book should come with a Warning: Beware crystals can be addicting once bitten by the crystal bug!

The design of the book is exquisite. The geometric shapes in the covers are a great tie-in to the books contents. The quality of printing is also excellent. It's amazing a hardcover book this well crafted can be offered at such a great price! Inside, the chapters are well laid out and in a logical, easy to follow order. As each chapter unfolds the history of gems and crystals, it leaves the reader wanting to continue on to the next chapter and the next. Each section is full of researched knowledge and explains the evolution of crystals through history and by various cultures. It's incredibly insightful and informative...so much so, as you read, you understand why a crystal was named and how the name ties it to the culture that first used the tool in their religious/metaphysical practices. When you hear 'lemurian quartz' you'll know exactly why and how it got that name, and what differentiates it from other quartz crystals. The entire book is laid out in simple terms, but contains a wealth of info. Honestly, it's the kind of thing you can read and re-read and keep picking out new tidbits everytime you pick it up. Athena is a wonderful teacher and explains things fully, but in an easy to digest way where you're never going, "Huh?" I think no matter your skill level with crystals and gems, this book has things for you. Definitely doesn't disappoint!

I am shocked for the price that this is not a paperback. This is a beautiful hardcover book jam packed with great information and beautiful images. This book is loaded with history, stories, magic and various religious connections and how they relate to crystal origins and their historical uses. It is laid out in a way that makes it easy to follow. Everything is categorized efficiently so it is easy to also use as a reference manual. I have four other books about crystals, gems and minerals but they do not compare. I’m giving this book 5 stars. My only suggestion is that It would be nice to have an audible version option which would be a very convenient add on to the hard copy. Very well written, I look forward to reading her next one.

This book was stellar! I so wish it could have been much longer, I could have read a whole textbook's worth of information on crystals written by Athena. I find that most metaphysical books tend to be very over the top dreamy and woo-woo, and this was definitely not. This book is written to give you the information that you need in a straightforward, but interesting manner. You get the historical reasons each stone was sourced by each society, the ancient magical reasons why people in those societies worked with them, and the modern reasons why people still work with them today. Athena also offers insights into how you can work with each stone at the end of each chapter as well as a meditation focus unique to each chapter, which I found very useful. The book is set up along an historical timeline, beginning with Atlantis and Lemuria, and ending in modern day, but each chapter is stand alone as well so you can read the book in any order you want if you'd like to. This book is great for those who are just getting interested in metaphysics and those who have been studying the subject for a long time.

Crystal Lore, Legends & Myths is the best and to my knowledge one of the only books about the lore and myths of the worlds most important crystals. It is well written and researched extensively. The chapters are clear and easy to understand, the pictures are a wonderful addition, and the history of each area well explained. Athena Perrakis is the best teacher and author of crystals that I have ever known. This book is well worth the price and will be one of the greatest additions to anyone's crystal library. I will be recommending this book to everyone that I know!

I don't think I have ever read a book about gemstones that was more engaging and informative. Not only did a learn a ton about history and gemstones but I also got to feel a little connected to it too because I know my ancestry and also because Athena Perrakis was amazing and put a zodiac section in there! The stories and lore are just like a dream. An amazing change of pace to read to my young daughter who is 9.

What makes this such a unique book about gems/crystals is how it's been grouped by historical, mythical and geographical origin. As well as beautiful written and easy to read, in this book, Athena Perrakis has proved she knows her lore, which makes it a fascinating and informative must-have reference, for everyone from the novice to the expert collector or practitioner, and, anyone even mildly curious in the legendary use of crystals throughout history. Athena Perrakis takes the new out of new-age and shares how old-age the use of crystal power actually is.

Another beautiful book from Athena. Beautifully written and illustrated. The book is laid out so that it is easy to read and understand the information, history and use of each crystal together with a beautiful image to make identifying each crystal easier. Highly recommended for the beginner, the experienced and collectors of crystals.
