Having size 12 hands I worry about gloves claiming one size fits all but these are not bad at all on size. Unfortunately they are pretty average on heat resistance. They are OK for holding something hot for a second or two but a good example of the limits is that I use some small stainless serving dishes which I can put on the grill for a minute or two and then use them to carry burgers, sausages, etc the three or four paces to the table. That is enough time for my fingers to shout "that's enough" while wearing these gloves.The gloves seem quite well made, the sizing is OK and if you want to wear gloves all time for some protection while BBQing (I don't) they will do the job but to want them to pick up hot dishes etc the only advantage over the old leather gardening gloves I have been using is that they look better.I find reviews can help my buying decisions. I’ve got a few pairs of heat proof gloves for use with a kamado BBQ but wanted a pair that offered more dexterity. I’ve seen others use similar gloves to move hot grill grates and hot oven trays, but that isn’t possible with these. The heat is felt almost immediately and within 3 or 4 seconds the hot item has to be put down. Problem is by then you’re invariably committed and have to drop whatever you’re carrying.In terms of size, I have fairly large hands and wear L sized gloves but no issues wearing these for either me or my wife who typically wears size S gloves.If you have say a Big Green Egg or Kamado don’t expect to be able to pick up heat deflectors - the silicone on the gloves melted to the stone. Definitely don’t try to handle the grill grate. They’re absorbent so hot oil or meat juices immediately soak through and burns badly.A really disappointing purchase. Can’t even use them for opening the log burner door or removing trays from the oven either, so they’ve gone in the bin.Avoid.If this review was useful, please click ‘Helpful’. Many thanks

I bought these for work because we have a new BBQ griddle plate and it gets so hot that my hands at the End of Night are so red. These gloves really help because of the high heat resistance. They are thick gloves but not to thick that you have to take them off to do other things. They are are comfortable inside and the good thing about them is that they go up past your wrist so they cover your hand wrist and little bit up your arm. We even use them when lighting the little fire at work now as well as they are brilliant for getting the chimney going. They have a red rubber grip on the outside.. they have a little tab inside where you can hang them up in the kitchen on a hook which is a good space saving idea.. you can easily wipe the gloves down or wash them in the washing machine. They're good for doing the BBQ, lighting up your chimney, really happy with them and now my hands are no longer sore at night.. happy customer

I like that these are black (my old ones weren't cream for very long) and they are comfortable and long enough to protect my wrist/forearm too :)As others have said, if you grab something quickly its possible to get just the material on the pan and feel the heat. It is still heatproof, so not scalding, but better get it with the silicone bit. That can happen with any fabric based glove; but I didn't want the solid silicone ones as they are too stiff.

I was sceptical about the claims made about the gloves heat resistant properties. However, having used them in the kitchen, and BBQ the gloves have proved to be an asset. The only downside is that they are not resistant to steam.

Where have these been while I've been burning myself for year's, having nerve damage in my hands and not being able to feel when my hands are burning until it's too late, these are a must, they keep the heat out really well, they're very comfortable to wear, I've even started using them in the kitchen while cooking, absolute bargain as well, thank you.

I bought these gloves way back but as the weather been pretty hopeless this year, I only had one BBQ so far. Gloves are standing up to the job they are intended to do. I felt no heat from BBQ when I was using them on my Weber BBQ. I picked up several hot things using these gloves and they are full up for the job. No complaints whatsoever

These bad boys are grea not only cover your hands but a good portion of your forearm so those annoying burns that catch you out are a thing of the past.I've found them to be great I've been able to touch what I need to, pick up and move hot grates around and pull red hot beer cans out of chickens with not one burn this year so far.
