Father Brown Series 7 [Official UK release]

Very good series with Mark Williams in the starring role

Great!

I was so pleased to stumble across Father Brown a couple of years ago. Each episode provides an hour of great pleasure and much needed distraction. Yes, it's "light British drama" and not built for Hollywood glory but it is so entertaining and much loved by me and many others, I'm sure.

Excellent mid-afternoon drama, well acted and thoroughly enjoyable. Mark Williams bring a subtle way with him in portraying the sleuthing Priest in the best possible way. The supporting cast are excellent, I do feel the lack of Sid in this series as Alex Price played the character of Sid Carter extremely well. I wish Lady F would return more often aswell. However the true delight of every Father Brown series is the duel he most have with the urbane thief his best frenemy Flambeau played perfectly by John Light. This encounter with the possibly penitent thief is one of the best. Long may Father Brown continue to grace our afternoon TV.

This show is a favorite of me and the wife. We really look forward to each new season and the DVDs are always being watched. For sheer calming, fun entertainment it really doesn't come any better than this show. This series has the return of some old favorites to the show as well as the regular cast headed by Williams. It is once again a fine entertainment and really fun to watch. One can not due any better in the light entertainment category than to sit down and enjoy this season of the now long running escapades of the Titular Crime-Fighting Priest!

As always this Series is wonderful & I awaited owning on disc so I could watch when I wanted and thought that the blu-ray release would have the 5.1 surround sound that all six previous series had (DTS HD Master). Instead it only has a PCM Stereo track that is not as good as that broadcast. It looks as though the online streaming options have the 5.1 surround. The picture quality on the blu-ray is as you would hope (full HD) but I am very disappointed that Dazzler Media have cut corners on the sound for the blu-ray release Update Feb 2020 : I do not know if there was a re-release of this Series 7 only blu-ray but I am very pleased to advise that the Series 7 blu-ray discs included in the full Series 1 to 8 box set do include both Stereo & 5.1 surround sound tracks - well done Dazzler for correcting this

Enjoyable film o watch

I like most Father Brown stories. The Police Inspector is overplayed; no one can be quite as daft at that rank but it's fun.

An enjoyable sequel of earlier episodes. LIke many others, I am sure, I should like to see the character Sid and Nancy Caroll's Lady Felicia back ...

I wasn't disappointed at all. I knew I'd enjoy the series and it was everything that I expected. I'm delighted to be able to play this PAL format disc on my multi region DVD player because the season 7 series is not yet available in our NTSC format.
