Men's Hiker 1/4 Sock Cushion (Style 1959) Merino Wool - 6 Pack Special

I never thought I would have "the one sock to rule them all" or something that I could have a whole drawer full of them and never feel like I needed to branch out. I literally wear these year round (In Charleston, SC) and due to their wicking capacity they are comfy in the summer... and I actually bought them for late fall and early winter Hiking in the mountains out west... I cannot tell you how exceptional they are in all of the situations I am in. The cushion makes my feet feel better than they ever have, the Material is fantastically warm and breathable in the winter - they also maintain heat even when they do get wet (We walked through a river that was ice cold when the temp was 26 degrees F - Never needed to change socks... just kept hiking!), and yet in the summer they never make my feet feel hot... because they breath so well and wick moisture away perfectly... The lifetime warranty is something I can't wait to use but I mean they are so durable I haven't ever needed to send in a pair yet.Very well worth the money. As a bonus, I wear these for both casual and Business casual Socks. They are perfect with any shoe I put on and don't look out of place... and you avoid the whole... why did I wear white socks with Black leather shoes today.I may never wear another sock!

It has to be said right up front that these socks are expensive. That being said, I found out about them from someone who has been wearing them for years without any noticeable wear. Hence, if you average the cost out over the years they remain serviceable, my guess is they may be cheap.They are very comfortable, but make sure you go up a size from what the sizing chart would suggest. After the first washing, they shrink slightly, and if you are near the top of the size range (say, medium, like I am), you might find that they become tight. I was lucky enough to have a husband who let me try on his, so I had a guide.Finally, back to the "comfortable" part. they are very smooth to get in and out of your shoes. The upshot of this fact is that they are great at protecting your feet from any friction points that might exist in your shoes. The evidence seems to be that I don't notice that my shoes are on with these socks. My husband is very sensitive to pressure points (and getting the resultant blisters) and highly recommends these socks.Finally, returning to the price, these socks usually sell for nearly $20 a pair. On Amazon you can get down to $18 on sale, but buying in this six pack gets the price down to $15 a piece. So there is a large up-front cost, but averaged out over what should be a very long life, my guess is they are quite reasonable.

When my wife drags me to Wally World, it's rare that they have large size socks in XL sizes. And the cotton/mix socks that I have got there just wear out pretty quick. I tried a pair of these Darn Tough socks and liked them. After that, I snagged a six pack. I walk 3-7 miles each workday, on concrete floors and gravel/dirt yards in steel toe boots. These socks are thicker than what I had been wearing, but kept me comfortable over the course of long shifts. We had some pretty hot and humid nights, and these kept my feet cool. I wear size 13 wide shoe, and the X-Large is a good fit. They aren't bulky, and the wool is not itchy at all. If you prefer to wear tall boots, I would suggest a longer style sock. I have one pair of Timberland Pro boots that feels like sandpaper on my legs just above these socks after about 9 hours into my 12, but no such issues with my Red Wings. Just wash these socks in warm water setting, gentle cycle, with the socks turned inside out. Tumble dry on low. It says do not dry clean. I picked this style because it is a very unique look. No chance of my wife sorting my socks into my sons clothes by mistake.

I’m a woman and I like men’s socks. I am a shoe size 8 in women’s in nearly every type of shoe I find. I don't have wide feet, but not super narrow either, I ordered the medium size because I don’t like my socks to be super tight. I’ve tried the small before and they were too tight. Once washed and dried, the medium socks shrunk a little but still fit just the way I like, not too tight that my toes can’t breathe, but not so loose that my feet are swimming. I used to get the ultra light socks but they get holes in the soles of the feet in a matter of weeks. These socks seem thicker on the bottom and I’m hopeful they will last longer.

10/19 Update: I’ve been wearing these for over a year now and they have been great. They are still going strong and don’t have any holes in them. Still wear them daily for work.These are great socks that live up to the price. What you spend on these you will save by not having to replace socks. I work outside year round on my feet and I was wearing out “work socks” from the other well known brands, so I decided to try these. They have been great. They have a slight amount of cushioning to them and it does make a difference, and they are great for summer as they really do wick the moisture off your feet. As long as they keep making the same great socks, and keep making them in the USA, they have a customer for life.

1/4 cut cushion sock-> I had bought sample pair 3 years ago, and under normal use and a mix of normal and delicate washing they have lasted years even with tiny hole I put in them opening the package...surprisingly this hole did not run or spread and the sock has barely worn... the sizing is small if you have a wide foot... I am typically 11.5US wide but the , X-Large (12.5-14.5) fits me best... I recommend you buy a sample pair for sizing... They are absolute best and toughest socks a man (or smart lady) can buy but have slightly small sizing... where you can, be sure to buy quality products manufactured from a democratic country like the USA!!!

Larger than expected

Socks are one of those items I've learned are worth investing in. As someone with bad feet who also stands a lot for work and does a lot of walking and hiking Im constantly evaluating new options to provide myself with comfort and relief from foot pain.These socks provide excellent cushioning, and the length prevents ankles from showing under pants cuff, but are short enough to help keep you cool.Merino will last for years if not abused, and Darn Toughs warranty is as good as it gets.

I bought these for my husband and the 6-pack is a great value. He loves the fact that the socks are so comfortable, especially during a long hike. Best socks I know of. I wear these short ones at the gym. Comfortable, good traction on your shoes, you don’t notice when your feet get sweaty, seems to control odours, I usually wear them twice before washing (warm water, detergent, oxiclean), very durable. An investment but I wouldn’t consider wearing anything else now.

No pilling and no noticeable wearing. I've been rotating the same three pairs for the last year, they still look like new. Can wear a pair for a week at a time without any noticeable foot odor. They shipped in a three pack and were only available as 6 pair. With this quantity and the rate at which they wear, I'll be bequeathing them in my will :) .
